GATA Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 he was carried off the floor for a bruise? He might have an Alex Maric level of pain tolerance (he'd go down like a Euro soccer player on contact)im guessing he was spooked about it being a ligament tear. Also a bone bruise is different than your standard bruise. Yup, those things hurt. A lot. Here's the replay of Pitchford's injury: LOL Quote

Dicemanhusker Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 He probably got cracked right in the "funny bone" located in the knee and got a nasty bone bruise. Never figured out why it's called a "funny bone" because there's nothing "funny" about it IMO. Quote

TomEadesSucks Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 That was pretty good fever. And anyone who taken a hard shot right below the knows it hurts like a mother. Quote
roscoe Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 Walter appeared to take a couple steps on his own after Shields and TP took him down the hallway. Doesn't mean it didn't hurt but is hopefully just a "stinger" type issue. Quote
royalfan Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 I had one eye on the court and the other on the entrance for the last 8 minutes of the game, hoping he would come back out. Relieved to hear it isn't more serious. Ditto. Didn't like the fella in the black suit coming back out to inform the staff of the severity while Walt never came. I was fearing a torn acl or something. I hope like hell it is as seems. Quote
royalfan Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 Miles must have snuck in a couple roseries during that final 8 minutes, b/c it looked bad. Really looked like the curse of Nebraska basketball was rearing its head again. Anyone think this isn't an NCAA team? The way we are playing, with a healthy roster the odds of us winning out regular season are rising. It will be extremely tough to win a singe remaining road game, let alone both. And that still leaves 3 very fiesty teams to deal with at home. Quote
nuled2dance Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 He came out went to coach Harriman/other assistant not smith who briefly smiled a bit(believe that meant relief/Walt was a bit dramatic) he then gave tim a thumbs up. A student manager stayed with him it appeared and they had ice on him in training room. Had it been a tear they would not have come to the bench etc. nor would they have been smiling about it. Quote
TomEadesSucks Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 I wanna be friends with Walt. Quote
Miles ahead of the rest Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 Actually tweeted this a couple games ago, but Walt and I salute each other before every game, but the only game that we didn't was the Michigan game cause I couldn't be in the student section for that game. Coincidence anyone? TheGov21, Norm Peterson and jdostal 3 Quote

Coincidence anyone? Actually, no. If the student section isn't on winter break we win that game too Quote

throwback Posted February 22, 2014 Report Posted February 22, 2014 Channel 10 just showed highlights of Fremont-Lincoln East basketball in Lincoln & Walt was in the stands. Must not have been feeling too bad. No crutches visible in the video shot. Quote
Timforthewin Posted February 22, 2014 Report Posted February 22, 2014 Pitch practiced today and will play Sunday, per Miles via Rosenthal Quote
nuled2dance Posted February 22, 2014 Report Posted February 22, 2014 Like I said all along he was fine. Sounds like it scared him more and was a bit dramatic;) Hey when you play like pitch you do what you want. Glad he is good to go he is a stud an we need him Quote
