We need a graduate transfer

Watching iowa state Kansas & Tariq black & deAndre Kane are playing huge roles. If you don't know, black transfered from Memphis and Kane Marshall and were immedietly eligible because they have obtained their degree.

We need one of these for next year. An immediate impact big. Not sure where we will find one but miles needs too!!

These type of 5th year transfers are almost impossible to get.  Every coach in the country wants a guy like this.  Plus, If they are accomplished players, they are looking to transfer to at least a semi-contender, not a cellar dweller.

Yea that kid from Tulane is a stud. He landed at SDSU and tore up creighton... He would of been sooooo nice in the front court with Leslie. I don't even know if we need an "accomplished" guy like black, but a guy who can come in and play 15 minutes in the paint sure would be nice. Chances we strike juco gold like we did with Leslie are slim

Perhaps a hefty PF would help.

This kid has been on our board for a long time. (though we have not written about him)

He recently decommitted...and he sounds somewhat like a L Smith type player.

We would still need a center, but he could provide inside PF muscle...which is where the other Smith should be anyway...

Considering that Pitchford played 13 total minutes his only season at Florida and now starts for us; that Petteway averaged only about 3 points per game in his only season at Tech and is now our leading scorer; that Leslee Smith wasn't on anyone's radar coming out of juco and scores nearly double figures for us; and that Miles took a flyer on Biggs that other coaches obviously weren't willing to take, I'm not altogether sure we won't get another key big out of juco like we did last year.  Miles seems to be a pretty decent judge of talent. 

 

And let's be clear --- Sergej has talent.  He just hasn't developed physically the way you might have hoped.  But he's as good of a shooter for a player of his size as anyone we've seen in awhile.

Im not sure this is as 'far fetched' as some of you make it out to be. I mean Miles and his staff have really solid connections and I am not saying we need a Josh Davis or DeAndre King type of transfer… but if we could find a big who can play some defense and rebound for 1 year.. than the scholarship opens back up… I think that is exactly what we need for this team

I wouldn't be surprised if this happened at all.

However, with one open scholarship last year we didn't get it done.

By the way, didn't Rosenthal blog about "don't be surprised if there is a big transfer announcement soon" around the end of the year?  That sure doesn't seem to have panned out.

My guess is that he expected Whittington to come to NU and that didnt pan out as many expected.
