Not sure about Parker. A big deal was made about Robinson visiting this fall. There were a couple others, I thought.

93.7 guys were talking about how we got Parker to visit. 94 % we didn't. We got Okafor to who was from the same school as Parker, but I don't think Parker ever stepped foot on campus.

Can anyone clarify?

You're right. We got Okafor, but not Parker

Guess that shows how much they know what they're talking about.

Like listening to them to pass some time in the mornings, BUT MAN they act like talking about husker hoops is a chore.  Especially the whiney guy.

Gaskins.  I think...

The one who doesn't care about basketball and hates Bo Pelini.

I actually like Stephens...I think...

The one who does care about basketball and defends Pelini.

They act like talking about basketball will tank their ratings.

You guys have made me depressed for the future.

I think next year is the year we have to take a huge step forward and at worst make the NIT but hopefully make the playoffs.

Recruiting hasn't really been what I had hoped either.

I feel that recruiting is going better than I expected. We have been getting official visits by some of the top recruits in the country. Something we haven't done for quite awhile. We only had 2 scholarships to give this year. We have a Rivals top 150 recruit who has signed in an area of need. The next step is to get the better players to sign.

We haven't had any splashy visits in a while right?

We had Robertson visit in October.  He is ranked 51st on Rivals.  Signed with LSU, however.  I can't tell you the last time a player ranked that high chose one of his official visits to be Lincoln, Nebraska.

I'm sure the new facilities played a role in his visit.

What do you consider a while?  We had a handful visit during the fall. Most everyone is in season right now, though.

I don't know?  Didn't we get have Jabari Parker visit?  I feel like since that and Webster we haven't really had any splashy visits or commits outside of Jacob.

Jabari Parker did not visit. Oakafor did visit with his AAU team for an unofficial way back in April '12....Chin Coleman facilitated that. Robertson in the fall was the best recruit we've had on campus for an official in YEARS.

I don't know how you can look at how this team is playing, even though we're losing, and not think it's the most talented team we've had offensively since the Nee era. The future is bright. I guarantee you that these coaches are in on talented kids that will improve this recruiting class in April. Just be patient and have fun watching the talent we have now learn to play together.

Kenya Hunter played the only role for his visit.  He didn't read on the internet that NU has great facilities and thought he'd come check them out.  Kenya is the reason he was checking out NU.  Facilites are great but it's the relationship with the coaches that determine where kids will sign.  How do you think schools that aren't any better than NU get top 150 players to sign?  It's not the facilites but rather the relationship they have made with the coach recruiting them. The facilites can be helpful to try and "wow" them once they get here but they don't even come unless a coach can get them on campus.

Yep. That's what I meant regarding the only reason Elbert visited (Kenya). Miles has done great things since being here. We will see how it pays off with the next couple recruiting classes, but the biggest glaring difference between this staff and the last are the assistant coaches and the connections they have. Things took off right when Miles got here with regard to visits and the type of visitors we were getting. Not able to tell if this is paying off just yet, yes the current talent is better, but still we are missing a couple pieces. Still, you have to wonder how much losing Chin and then Ben Johnson set us back in terms of when we will see that first big recruit make the jump to being N. Especially Johnson. He had some relationships forming to the point where we could've had a 2014 guy, definitely 2015 guy pull the trigger. Johnson had the Minnesota footprint and then obviously takes those relationships with him back to recruit his home state for the home state school. Miles brings in Kenya Hunter, another great hire, but now you're starting over for the most part. Kenya has those relationships (Elbert), but he really hasn't been here long enough for those to pay off for Nebraska. Plus, he's recruiting the east coast for Nebraska. Quite a bit different than Johnson recruiting the home state for the home state school. Those relationships are going to carry more weight at Minnesota and will probably pay off sooner. Hopefully we get some big recruits soon. Time will tell.
