Did say it meant anything other than a team we played is playing and they are playing well?  I tend to think so and I assume others do too.  And until I see UNO play, I will hold judgment as to if they are better than us.

Miami is up on the road against North Carolina at half... disagree that these are not relevant.  At the end of the year, we want every team that we played and beat as well as lost to in the Non Con to be as best they can.  Our RPI and SOS make these teams and all of their games relevant.

Miami goes on the road and beats North Carolina.    Our win against Miami and Georgia looking a little better tonight.

Miami lost a close game over the weekend at #2 Syracuse as well.

These things aren't real relevant.

UNO lost to iowa by 8, and we lost to them by 10. does that make UNO better than UNL. I hope not.

RPI?

We absolutely want these teams to win. Especially if we have any hopes of any post season play. The better the RPI, the better. UMASS won tonight over St Joe's as well.

They sure as hell are.

KenPom rankings are nice but they're not used to determine the brackets

Point is, your opponents' win-loss record (and the quality of the teams they play) do have an effect on rankings, KenPom or no.

Definitely though I think the dismissive comments were made before the upsets occurred.  Georgia losing by 2 to Missouri isn't nearly as relevant as Georgia beating Missouri by 2.

Yes, they are relevant. Not in the sense that it means we're better than North Carolina and Missouri. But in the sense that any time our opponents beat someone of note, it helps out our RPI.

As for your second point, UNO is not much worse than us this season, if at all. A multitude of results suggest that, as does the eyeball test from seeing them play. And that they led us on our own court in the 2nd half last year, and so far they appear to be far more improved than we are.

WE need to start beating some quality opponents. That better start tonight against Michigan!

The whole point of the thread is that we have beat some quality opponents.  But yeah, winning tonight would be huge.
