Somebody here at work just asked me if I had heard that Karmin is singing the National Anthem on Friday.

For those who don't listen to any thing from the 2000's she is the young lady from Seward who is hitting it big right now.

Just something somebody heard might not be true or not, And she has a Husker themed basement, or so I've heard been told.

A Karmin cover rap version of the anthem might be pretty cool (and take about 15 seconds).  But I bet she sticks to the traditional tempo.

I flew from Minneapolis to Lincoln tonight, and the FGCU team was on my flight.  As we de-planed in LNK a lot of people (myself included) were chatting with them & welcoming them to Nebraska.  Common themes were that they have heard a lot about the arena and are excited to play in it.  Most all of them also commented on the weather, they were cold just stepping off the plane.  Up close, they looked like a pretty tall and lean team.  

 

On a side note, another interesting passenger on the same flight was Tommy Lee.  I'm sure they are un-related, but the thought did cross my mind that it would be cool to see him on the drumline to open the new arena...he could relive his reality TV show glory days here in Lincoln.

Hope getting a good seat will be an issue doc - Monday's student attendance was a little disappointing.   Please make sure the rowdy students sit on the end where they can be noticed and make a difference.
