Fullbacksympathy Posted January 27, 2014 Report Posted January 27, 2014 He's mean. We need mean guys. I'd love to see this kid play here. We have room for his style. Quote
lanigan123 Posted January 27, 2014 Report Posted January 27, 2014 I want him to be a Husker but it appears the 3 spot is stacked, unless we will always play a tweener at the 4. Not sure if he or Pender fills out enough to play the 4. Quote
Huskerpapa Posted January 27, 2014 Report Posted January 27, 2014 Has anyone had a Nate Hawkins sighting over the past several games (other than his deadpan responses to questions on the big screen)? I like Nate's game and I believe he can be a good one, but the fact that he did not redshirt, and his playing time is really zero, makes me cautious about his possible return. Not saying he won't, but it is certainly reason for a bit of concern. The point being, is that we can go from being rich in a position to very poor, overnight. If Morrow is a playa, then I want him. 49r Posted February 11, 2014 Report Posted February 11, 2014 I really want this one to end up a Husker. Quote
TheKamdyMan Posted February 11, 2014 Report Posted February 11, 2014 I would like him as well the only tough thing is having Pinder already in the class they pretty much play the same SF position. Unless one can grow and play the 4 it will tough to get two 3's when theres a few other needs at other positions. Quote
Section_316 Posted February 11, 2014 Report Posted February 11, 2014 Morrow > Pinder If he wants to come, Miles & co. will gladly take him Quote

Just a totally uninformed hunch, but I wouldn't be surprised to see the Pinder commit to go the way of some other Jr year commits we've had in recent years. Think of names like McNeal, Joachim and Sallie. Maybe a fun exercise would be to list the names of people who have committed in their Jr year the last 10 years and see how many of them actually ended up here. Quote
AuroranHusker Posted February 11, 2014 Report Posted February 11, 2014 Seeing Keanu Pinder up close at a Husker football game this past season, it seemed to me that he's not done growing yet; I suspect he'll be more in the range of 6'-10" by the time he's playing '4' at NU. Quote
lanigan123 Posted February 11, 2014 Report Posted February 11, 2014 It depends. Pinder is listed at 6'8, grades and current pt may show morrow, who is listed at 6'6" may be a better 3 and they would hope Ponder to fill out to play the 4 at 6 8? Quote

Now Pinder is currently listed at 6'8'', he turns 19 in a couple months, and his dad was 6'8''. assuming he's a late bloomin (onion) thats possible but the odds are less likely by the year he hits another growth spurt. We can hope that he fills out though to fill a PF role as he will be 20 by the time he gets to campus. Quote

I realize that he may or may not grow a lot in height; but, it is quite likely that he fills out a lot. I didn't mean to state earlier that height is the sole reason for growth. He seemed to be fairly immature physically. Quote
lanigan123 Posted February 11, 2014 Report Posted February 11, 2014 I think he ends up playing the 4, but if not I don't think you can reject morrow for a number of reasons. Quote

We can hope that he fills out though to fill a PF role as he will be 20 by the time he gets to campus. Interesting point. It could be the other way around. Ed Jr's mom, the former Nafeesah Brown, was 6'1" which is about 8" taller than the average woman. His dad, Ed Sr., was about 6'4" or 6'5" depending on which football roster you look at. He'd just be a junior right now; probably still growing. Last year, article in the Chicago Tribune said his parents were told when he was a toddler that he projected to about 7 feet. Now, he might not get there, but is it out of the realm of possibility that he gets to 6'9" when he was listed at 6'7" back as a sophomore? If Pinder is a 3, Morrow could easily be a legit 4. And that's what the recruiting services list him as. Quote
lanigan123 Posted February 11, 2014 Report Posted February 11, 2014 All being said the better player will play. No way they turn him down. Quote
hhcmatt Posted February 11, 2014 Report Posted February 11, 2014 I don't think you can reject morrow for a number of reasons. Agreed. If we can't find/land Nebraska kids, landing kids of Nebraska kids, especially talented ones, should be at the top of our list. bobcat402, greymonkey, AuroranHusker and 1 other 4 Quote
lanigan123 Posted February 11, 2014 Report Posted February 11, 2014 Yes, especially who play in Chicago at Simeone a basketball power. Build those connections. Quote
Section_316 Posted February 11, 2014 Report Posted February 11, 2014 I agree with Norm. In watching the tape, his thickness and touch around the basket + his hands screams '4' to me. Wish we could see more shooting but the FT form looks very good. Seems like a blue collar junk yard dog to me.. but with some athleticism and touch. Sign me up!!! Quote
GATA Posted February 17, 2014 Report Posted February 17, 2014 Michael O'Brien @michaelsobrien 1m I'm sure the college coaches on hand are impressed by how Ed Morrow is handling Cliff Alexander. He's blocked him twice and can score on him ^^^Big high school game in Chicago Quote
