Bolis is raw but very athletic.

I'm not quite sure you would still call Bolis raw.  First, I've heard good things about him from practices.  Secondly, he did play Class A basketball.  Third, he has one year of JUCO, under his belt (and oh by the way, could get that year back).  Fourth, he has now practiced a full year against pretty decent competition and mentored under Rienk and Josiah.   Lastly, he will have had a full year under our nutrition and strength programs.

Again, I am not going to crawl out on the limb and claim he will be a star; but until he fails y eye test next year, I do believe he may be a solid member of the rotation...or he will be gonzo.

Yeah, maybe raw wasn’t the right word, as it is usually associated as a negative. I meant, he’s just hasn’t had a ton of major playing time at this level - and is still developing. I like his potential, I do agree that he won’t wait around forever without finding some time in the court next year

Nothing wrong with having a high-potential developmental piece of the puzzle in Justin Bolis. I have no issue with having a guy like that for a good long while. And, there is very little downside since the rotation tends to shrink as the season wanes on. No purpose in making the entire roster 'upset' with a lack of playing time if the team has guys at various stages of their career and/or development. Hope it works out for Bolis at NU, I watch him every single pre-game at home. It seems like he enjoys his time at dear old Nebraska U.

He can’t be worse than some of the two or three deep centers that we have played against the last couple of weeks.  I mean one or two of those guys were what is before raw on the ability chart?😎

I  agree with you but when I watched him play in the preseason scrimmage, raw would have been the best word to describe him at that time.

If I am not mistaken I believe he is a preferred walk-on and not on scholarship. The coaches may be willing to keep him around longer than if he was on scholarship (if he wants to stay).
