Huskers Face No. 10 Hawkeyes Saturday on FOX
The Nebraska women's basketball team takes on its ninth top-20 opponent of the season when the Huskers open their season series at No. 10 Iowa on Saturday afternoon in Iowa City.

Tip-off between the Big Red (12-8, 4-5 Big Ten) and the Hawkeyes (16-4, 8-1 Big Ten) is set for Noon (CT) at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Live national television coverage will be provided by FOX with Brandon Gaudin and Sarah Kustok on the call. 
The game also can be heard across the Huskers Radio Network with Matt Coatney and Jeff Griesch on 107.3 FM in Lincoln and 105.9 FM in Omaha, Huskers.com and the Huskers App.

Hoo boy, been dreading this one for a few weeks now 

 

Serious question: when’s the last time NU beat Iowa WBB? I know we went 0-3 against them last year, and I don’t see that trend changing today.

Blew them out twice in 17-18 and split in 19-20. Not an easy team to beat.

Jaz has made some great passes for naught.  We played well early by attacking the rim but now are casting up threes.  We let momentum get away by subbing late in the first quarter.  Why? They had a 7 minute break for a clock issue.  Now, we are going to get buried.

I think in the 1st quarter, we caught Iowa overconfident and sleeping to start the game. Unfortunately, Iowa is now fully awake.

Outscored 25-9 in 2nd quarter because we cannot attack the zone.  We gave up too many offensive rebounds because everyone is not going to the boards. You cannot give up more possessions to Iowa and have the number of live ball turnovers to have a chance.  It’s sad. We should be in this game.

Well, the "dream" lasted about 1Q.  Obviously was realistic about it before tipoff.  You can't trade off a very good 1Q with one where you don't even get to double digits in it.  We are who we are (of course) and we can only hope to play better and get better with who we have now.  That can branch off into a bigger discussion but will leave it at that.  GBR!!

Yeah, the 1st half is more proof that we have to get better- if nothing else- at finishing at the rim.  Unfortunately we are not particularly good overall at shooting the three either at this point in the season anyway.  Then there's the issue of all the bad passes.

We sub all the time and we still so damn lazy and out of shape.  I don't get it. How can we be so out of shape always year after year

Just a single sequence, but Issie missing the bunny, and Clarke getting the quick '3', supports your finishing at the rim observation.  Ironically, we did a good job at the rim, in the 1st quarter.

Yeah, it seemed like hitting the close range shots was better than average for us in the 1st Q.

We make some real basic mistakes. We look to shoot too many threes. We are not shot ready most times. Too much standing and watching someone dribbling. Too much of the same story for this team most games.

Iowa has a very talented group.  But they play extremely hard...that takes them from a good to great team.

I have to be impressed by Iowa’s ability to develop outstanding post players. They make quick, decisive moves and convert a high percentage of shots.  Their coaching staff does a great job.

Nice stretch to open the 4th quarter.  This is so frustrating about this team.  We can play well in spurts. Get Markowski back in the game while we have a shot.
