Yes

You could easily say Missouri since NU has 2 4th place finishes in Bball & a Football Title game appearance. BUT the B1G thought it was getting the Nebraska “Brand” in Football people had come to expect for 40 years, not a last place program…

@Faux Mike Peltz this isn't directed at you specifically but rather a response to similar comments.

I think we should stay away from throwing any assistants or players under the bus. Ultimately this falls on Fred.

Agreed. I’m not wanting to throw any stones - certainly agree that everything falls on the head coach ultimately

All of that seems like AGES ago.  Goodness how far we’ve come.

Verge actually tried to keep others involved early on; his first possession without a pass didn’t come until inside of five minutes to play in the first half. Unfortunately, nobody else was able to do much with it.

We have to figure out how to channel this, not bench this.

I rewatched the game, officially qualifying as a glutton for punishment, and Padilla is correct. Verge initiated offense a number of times without just going straight to the basket. His teammates often shot as soon as the ball hit their hands. Sometimes they were open but sometimes not so much. So either they're selfish or the culture is to get yours because the ball won't come back. The teammates' haplessness eventually resulted in Verge going all-Verge, all the time.

The defensive effort wasn't as bad as I thought the first time through. It was more a matter of going over/under on screens when they should have gone under/over and messed up rotations whenever Dickinson got the ball. Eventually, the lead got so big and Michigan got so hot that everything fell to pieces.

Right now, I feel like maybe I overreacted to the game because of the score. Mich shot 46% on 3s, and we shot 14%. No wonder the score was lopsided. Yeah, I know we could have changed those percentages by playing better, but i kind of feel like this is still fixable. And no, I don't mean we're going to the tourney this year. But maybe we can beat K State and Kennesaw.

The biggest worry I have right now is confidence and that little bit of area between the ears.  Really how much of this is not having horses and how much of it is mental right now?  It's the same thing I think in football.  "Here we go again" is tough to get out of your head once you let it move in.

I'm not trying to entirely excuse our play----------> But, it does seem as if a pretty nifty flu/viral thing is going through our team. Would certainly explain some lethargy and lack of energy. Not an excuse, necessarily, but it's context.

Multiple players to step positive for influenza A and will not travel to Atlanta.  Does anyone still have Noah Vedrals number?

Hoiberg has had the flu this entire time since March 2020?? That explains his lack of energy.

...that and team chemistry. Someone else may have mentioned it before but, and as a Christmas theme, this is the island of misfit toys. 5 guys on the court not working together.
