Didn't one of the officials call a technical on the band or something like that the last time they did that...decades ago...like back in the Big 8?

If I remember correctly, the T was not actually issued but one official did go over and threaten it.  And also if I remember correctly, I don't think the guy was blind, but he was crooked.

I was in the band when that happened.  @Dead Dog Alley is correct, the refs that day were technically not blind.

 

So, after the ref issued the warning to the band, every time there was a call against the Huskers, the entire crowd chanted "THREE BLIND MICE! THREE BLIND MICE!"
