While money might have been going to a cause it seemed like the point was to exploit a loophole to play an extra tuneup game.  The NCAA closed the loophole.  The lack of  scrimmages for charity this year backs that up.

The NCAA didn't ban the ability to play a "charity" game, capitalism did.

Universities will find any arbitrage opportunity to get in a free game, even if that means putting on a facade that they're doing it for the good of hurricane victims.

I understand why they wouldnt want to sacrifice their exhibition game, but why not the secret scrimmage? Do the schools make any money off of the "secret scrimmage"?

If not, why not make it a charity game. You get more of a game like setting and make money for a good cause.

You get the opportunity to practice situational ball.  My understanding is that it is more akin to a practice/scrimmage than a game.  Winning/losing is less important than improving by/through playing comparable competition.

Nebraska projected as 2.5 point dogs in our scrimmage with Iowa State per Three Man Weave. Don't agree with them, but still credit where it's due throwing this all together.

A betting line for a practice.

Yeesh.

It would be interesting to be a fly on the wall when Jacobson is in the game.  Guessing he'll want to go into beast mode against his old mates.

One of his roommates was Glynn.  I imagine things will be fairly civil.

Hypothetical: If one wanted to get into "secret scrimmage", how would one accomplish that?

All ideas welcome.

Norm and I have been attempting to figure this out, but as importantly, we simply want to attend some practices.
