I kind of love it - it's a decidedly NYC thing to do.  They just say "get outta here with your fancy PA announcer $#!t.  We're NEW YORK F*****G CITY, we don't need that flowery crap!  We're gonna throw a geek in glasses and funky teeth up there to say people's names and you're gonna like it!"

 

It's why NYC is the greatest city on the planet.

Me:  "Umm only because we moved our conference tournament to play during a week with a bunch of 1 bid conferences.  So it's really like Big 10 country this WEEK."

Yep.  Hurter just missed a FT to tie it up.  55-54 with 8 seconds left.

 

Interesting little scenario unfolded.  Happ tried to line up on the same side as Fernando during the FT to check him out.  Every time Happ would move to one side, Fernando would move to another side.  The referee made Happ stay put on one side while letting Fernando move to whatever side he wanted.  What is the correct way to handle this situation?

Maryland turns it over with 5 seconds left down 3.  LAZY LAZY LAZY.  Inbounds pass was terrible.  WOW.  Maryland doesn't deserve any post season after that.

I really expected better out of a coach like Mark Turdgeon.... that end of game was just UGLY for Maryland

That was terrible.  And then Hurter just gives up.  No foul.  My goodness talk about a loss of heart.  I would be pissed if I was a Maryland fan.

I guarantee you michigan State didn't want to see Wisconsin again as opposed to maryland.  

 

They're going to have to show up tomorrow and grind it out or kiss their 1 seed in the ncaa goodbye.

That was on the inbound passer. He missed Huerter coming off the screen. By the time he made the pass, the Wisconsin defender had caught up to the play. Very strange all around.

Maryland only made 8-9 free throws while Wisconsin made 20-24 FTs, including Happ's 6-7. That was a Badger team that only made 18-50 from the field. I have no idea how Maryland looked so pathetic against them. The Terps were fighting tooth & nail for a post-season bid, at all. Somehow the Badgers have won 5 of 7 with an extremely limited offense, it's incredible really. Prior to the tourney UW took on Sparty, only lost 68-63.

Noticed that most shots from early game teams who have not  played in MSG yet are long.

Michigan finds that range from three and the free throw arc this could get ugly. Iowa allergic to the very concept of defense.

Only thing Iowa has going for them is they can fill it up just as fast.

This is pretty hard to do.  I never cheer for either of these teams for anything.  Today I am a Michigan fan
