Somehow the Pirates have managed to hold Howard to 26 pts so far. Considering I was assured by local media CU "played great defense" to hold him to 53 earlier in the week, Seton Hall must be playing God-like defense today.

The Hall went for a bank off the 2nd free throw when they were down 2 with 3 seconds to go.

 

I'm no coach, but wouldn't attempting the shot to go down 1, foul, then go for the final shot be better off? And with that same logic, you miss the shot unintentionally you're in the same spot.

No, that's not it.  PSU was much better than they looked today.  Almost double the turnovers that they had against us.  Shooting worse than they did against us.  Reeves has just 9 points.  Penn State is not a "shitty" team.  They are much better than their record and what they portrayed today.

I think that every team has the tendency to do this.  It isn't just us that has this problem.  In college basketball, especially when you get to conference play, it's all about winning and surviving.  There are going to be so many close games.  Sometimes we play bad, yes.  Othertimes, other teams play good.  I don't expect us to blow everyone out of the water.  Hell, we are just a game out of fourth right now in the Big 10 at 2-3.  

 

Do you think Michigan is mad that they only beat NW by 2 or Illinois by 10?  Do you think MSU is mad that they only beat Rutgers by 11?

 

We've been in a lot of tight games.  Right where I expected us to be.  The suckie thing is we've missed out on three of those.  A few bounces our way, another shot going in, a few bonheaded plays taken away, and we are having a whole different discussion about the team at this point.  

 

I'll stick to my guns.  We're 12-4.  We have 15 conference games to go.  A few losses in early January isn't going to be the ultimate deciding factor.  Especially in the Big 10 this year.  We have a long ways to go.  We have a lot of opportunities left.

I guess.  It's just crazy.  You could tell people that we were going to play Michigan State at the Beatrice Municipal Auditorium with Doc Sadler and our starting five was going to be Shang Ping, Benny Parker, Mike Peltz, Trevor Menke, and Cookie Miller and tickets would be sold out in 10 minutes.
