I have been a faithful "lurker" of this board since August 2005, I had moved to CT in July of that year, ahead of my family, I stumbled upon the board fill up free time HuskerCWG likes to tweak me for not posting, correctly I might add. I continually come back because of the quality of content. It is the posters and quality of what they share that makes this board. Thanks to lead-posters like huskercwg, HB, Norm that set the high quality tone that others follow I miss Kidney

I'm right with you Norm. I immediately turned to my 14 year old and said "that's not true" .... I mean I had to tell somebody. I'm glad you pointed it out here. History is history and facts is facts and I'm a bear for details ( see below ). No hate on Connie of course...she just had it wrong.

I know Standhardinger was awful, but I didn't know every coach that recruited him would end up fired.

BTW, Normy I tend to agree w/ you on this type of misinformation. The 4-time NCAA tourney Nebrasketball of the early 90's was an accomplishment that should be repeated, not depleted. Kind of surprised that Yori would not know that the men's team had done that, but I guess she was a Creightonian at that time... anyway, like I said, it's a great accomplishment to get to 4 straight Big Dances, and I hope that in 3 years the men's team will 'repeat' the feat! Bill Self's interviews/Press Conferences are usually half taken up by him stammering. "uh-uh-uh" I always get a chuckle out of that.

Robin said his inside source says NU will not pursue as they want a big man transfer this class or wait for 2016.

My story is that I was involved pretty closely 25 some years ago with the Husker woman’s program and when that closeness went away I still wanted to engage in some kind of conversation with anyone that would listen about the team. Those people as you can imagine turned out to be a very few. One of those people though was Jeff Griesch and still to this day I look forward to sitting down with him and talking about the team. He’s like a walking encyclopedia on the history of this team. I used to start threads on the rivals board around the turn of the century but everything I put on there was almost always answered with derogatory responses. It’d never fail. So, I just quit. I found a Big Twelve wbb message board in our Big 12 days along with Noah121 and a few other NU fans and that became our stomping grounds. One day I happened to check the Rivals board and in a thread someone mentioned that a new site was in the works on Husker Hoops. So, I went directly to that site (HHC) and registered, the rest is history. My first post went something like this “Is it okay if I periodically post a thread about the Husker women’s team. The first response was from Dimes and he encouraged me to do so. The responses were favorable as others were interested in it also. So I kept it up. It wasn’t but a few months after that that Dimes set up a separate forum for the women. I feel in a way now it’s my responsibility somewhat to keep the discussion going on that forum. :Never in a million years would I have thought it would take off the way it has. It’s developed into one of the top forums in the country among other schools. It's without a doubt the best in the B1G. I’m constantly finding other message boards pasting links from our site and information on what we put on there. Don’t get me wrong I love the men’s team also and like to converse about them too. But I just know a little bit more about the ins and outs of the Husker women and like the fact that we can converse with both without the derogatory comments. I just wish Sideburns Jones would show up again and share some his wisdom with us again.

Now all we need is for Gregg Marshall to get fired between now and then...

If you're referring to everything before post 4 on this thread, that's an accurate statement. No, it's an accurate statement period. I think I've made it pretty clear. You cannot evaluate recruiting success in a vacuum. You do it by comparing where you are with where others, similarly situated, are. If our last 4 commits had all been pursued by Iowa and we'd beaten out Iowa for all of them, I'd have pointed out that we'd beaten Iowa for 4 straight commits. But the thread -- and the intent behind it, which I don't see how you think you can judge -- wouldn't have been about Iowa. It would still have been about us. I was remarking on what I think is pretty substantial forward strides in recruiting FOR US. Poo poo it all you want but the fact that we won 4 straight head-to-head battles says something. About US. (And maybe about them, too, but that wasn't my focus. You didn't see me doing any endzone dances over the recruits they've missed on.) I don't see why you're making such a big deal about beating out a mid-major for recruits.
