  1. CTRL + Q to Enable/Disable GoPhoto.it Ok, signed up 3 months ago and weathered new zealand winter and my anticipation to now finally post in support of the above request. Being from New Zealand and a big fan and follower of Tai I love to see an expert college basketball view of where Tai is at and what your first impressions are on Friday (for us that will be saturday) of him in all aspects: technically, how does he stack up to american standards? Is he still behind with his physical play (overall my biggest worry in the beginning)? How is his D? How do his team mates seem to relate to him? Is he firing his shots and/or positioning himself fast enough or is he too slow? You have no idea how much I would, and currently do, appreciate the writings on this site on Nebraska basketball and the opinions and going on's that go with it. It will take me some time to get to know all Tai's team mates but with your writings and hopefully some video material in the future, I will get to know this team to throw heart and soul behind Nebraska. Wishing you, jealously, well when going to the scrimmage on friday. yours sincerely JK

In other words, he can bench Grant Gibbs the number of years of college eligibility he's had

  4. from what I heard through the grapevine was they took some single game tickets allotted for other teams/boosters/etc were taken back for season tickets. They should have given those to the students. From what I've heard they had way more student ticket demand than they planned for. The visitors section is right smack dab in the middle of the student section.

  5. Crieghton Fan, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Gaskins and Stephens, just like Creighton fans, are in Husker football mode right now...they don't have too much time to devote to hoops.

  7. Thanks for the help dimes. Yeah that is why I like the kid, he is the team bro, we love him other teams hate him. He's the guy that gets under your skin when you play. He is the one that makes his free throw and his team stays on for the 2 hours of open gym pick up games.

  8. Because I have my iPad and it gives me problems sometimes I can't retweet that Mr.Brobasketball benches 380 and has benched 225 25 times. He also has a 5.3 % body fat. That was according to Brian Rosenthal, so it must be true.

  11. Very high praise for Petteway, Shields and Webster. High praise for Fuller, Pitchford and Smith. Praise for Gallegos, Biggs and Hawkins. Outside of Gallegos and Shields, all those players are newcomers. If all of that is accurate, we just about can't help but be a much better team this year. Norm is GEEKED!!! for this season.

Actually, they sound a lot like the typical Nebraska football fan attempting to discuss basketball (the members of this board obviously excluded). The only thing lacking from the tidbit was one of them saying, "Well, you know, signing day isn't until February, so there's still time for him to change his mind" Yeah, it saddens me sometimes to visit other Husker message boards and see their takes on hoops.

  13. Rosenthal having a chat today Highlights Redshirts have been pretty impressive, particularly Terran Petteway. He'll be an immediate difference maker and leader. Any starting lineup has to include Petteway and Shields. Webster's a lock, too, and I say Gallegos, although not all agree with that. I'd probably say Pitchford over Smith, but that's just me. I'd say all the freshmen see playing time, but how much, I don't know. Fuller can be a dangerous three-point shooter, I do know that I don't see any of the freshmen redshirting, to be honest. Peltz could be a candidate, depending on how healthy he is. If he's health and ready, he wants to play, though re: open practice: I'll tell you what Tim Miles told me about practice: He doesn't want a lot of company. Which is pretty standard, really. I asked Tim Wilson about Sergej Vucetic, and he said Vucetic is a "project" that hasn't put on muscle as they had hoped, but IS in much better shape and conditioning. So he's making progress in some areas. Shooters: Gallegos, Webster, Hawkins. Even Smith can shoot from the perimeter (working on getting more comfortable from 3). Guesses Shields will be the top scorer Guesses that we might see 5,000 people at the scrimmage Petteway and Smith will be huge additions in rebounding. But size is still a big concern, particularly on defense. When I ask players an open-ended question about who looks most impressive, Tai's name is mentioned more than anyone's. I haven't personally seen the team in action very much this summer. I know there's been a lot of hype for Tai, and expectations are high, and so far, the reviews have been good. Personally, I'd the say the newcomer who will make the biggest impact will be Terran Petteway. This guy is hungry, and he provides a huge boost in athleticism. Not only that, he's emerged as a team leader. He wants to win. Bad. I'd expect some turnover, but don't want to speculate with names. I'd be surprised if it's more than one or two players.

His twitter handle is @3LeeLee_ My guess is that they are confusing him with Deng Deng, who is of course an Sudanese Australian attending Lee College JUCO after decommitting from LSU 'I'm sure Creighton will be happy with African-Asian-American player Lee Deng Lee Deng III' replied John Gaskins as he prepared to send a flaming bag of poop to Ray Gallegos' doorstep.

    2015 Recruits

Nebraska has an in home visit scheduled with Napheesa Collier for tomorrow.

  19. Well, screw us if that's the case, then. I was hoping he'd be so blown away by his experience coming here that he'd commit on the spot or soon thereafter. The longer he waits the worse our chances, IMO. Especially if he waits until spring. Schools will be scrambling to fill recruiting classes and guys who wouldn't normally get second looks in the fall will be getting all kinds of attention in the spring. Offer lists blow up and competition for the last good uncommitted players heats up. If he waits until spring, we're hosed I'm afraid. On to the next one. Thinking the same thing, guess that feeling in the gut was in fact MrsCH's cooking.

  20. Yikes, April? I personally don't like our chances with waiting that long. The shine of the facilities and the warm fuzzies from the visit could seriously dull in that time. Imagine the gloom around here if we don't get him after a year of hanging on his every tweet. I like the 100 page challenge though. Obviously 30 pages was an unlucky number with Atewe, so lets try and blow by that.

  21. Actually, when she did that I became pretty optimistic as well. You do have the timing a bit wrong though. Momma Gilmore registered after Gilmore got back from visiting both Creighton and Nebraska with Adam Barnes. Her post at that time was something along the lines of "Leon really enjoyed his time up there and was impressed with your campus. He will most likely be taking an official visit this fall." Sure enough he did. Tom, How many tweets did you send to the 17 year old begging him like a little girl to commit to Creighton?
