By being warned for things...that's sort of pointless to display really so I'll see about removing this. I mean, if you're the turd in the punch bowl, most people will know this already.2 points

Heard a story regarding Agau. The info comes from a source with direct ties to the program and Coach Miles. I don't have any direct inside info, this was just a story told to me by someone who knows a person with ties. As they say, this is how rumors get started...but it's been slow, so what the heck. Without releasing every detail, bottom line is that Miles still believes that Akoy can be had and that he will eventually come around for Nebraska. Miles doesn't feel that Louisville and Pitino are a good fit for Akoy and that we still have a shot at him. Now, I don't know if this is anything earth shattering or if we should expect Miles to feel any other way. But it is the only info to be gained from the story that I was told other than the fact that Miles is still active in the pursuit and I think everybody is well aware of that fact.1 point

Contrasting warm ups; something to watch for
Blindcheck reacted to Norm Peterson for a topic
I always watch warm ups when I get to the game early enough. And I mean the early warm ups. For one thing, just to entertain myself, I try to pick out the other team's starters by watching how they do in warm ups. (And you can generally figure it out or at least get the guys in the main rotation -- so, again, don't tell me you can't learn much by watching a short highlight video or a brief period of watching a guy play.) Another thing I look at is how many of the other team's players are draining shots. And there seems to be a very strong correlation between the teams that come in here and beat us and how many of their players can stroke it. I have to say that, generally over the last decade +/-, we have not looked particularly impressive as a team shooting the ball in warm ups compared to some of the better opponents we've faced. And, yeah, those shots in warm ups don't count. I realise this. But it does give you a window into the offensive firepower that each team possesses. And it gives you a pretty good indication of which opponents are going to be a tough out for us. If the videos of our recruited commits and the players we appear to be after are any indication, this may be changing. I think there seems to be a pretty strong indication that Coach Miles is prioritizing guys who can shoot in his recruiting efforts. And that includes the bigs. Something to keep an eye on. Be watching our warm ups and keep an eye on how many of our kids can drain it.1 point -
As the dust settles, things are starting to come together...

I'd like to personally thank all of the HHC staff for making the transition to the new board relatively smooth. We spent a lot of quality hours discussing Husker Hoops on the old board, celebrating the wins, venting during the downfalls, reminiscing about cip's salsa, going through the cycles of coaching changes, and living vicariously through Norm's optimism. I know the staff has spent hours upon hours making this board the high quality product that it is and we all appreciate that very much. As with the Husker Hoops program, I am excited to see the new direction this board is headed in and am grateful to be a part of such a wonderful community. Cheers to a new conference, a new practice facility, a new coach, a new arena, a new HHC board, and a new generation of Husker Hoops fans to come.1 point -
Old topic; new threads.

You have to click on the "Image" button (11 icons from the left... starting with the Bold, Italicize, Underline, and so forth... then post the URL in that popup window). If you did that already, then I'm at a loss.1 point -
This was a pic sent out by Coach Miles for his first practice.1 point

The new board has turned this long time lurker into an active participant...you will have to take some time to decide whether that is good or not...but it is another "new".1 point

Matthew Atewe -> Auburn -> Washington
hhcmatt reacted to HuskerFever for a topic
You almost make it sound like a candy store . "I want that one, and..... that one. And I'll have three of these." Even if we get one quality player out of there, I certainly can't object to anything our recruiting staff is doing.1 point -
Akoy Agau -> Louisville -> Georgetown
TheGov21 reacted to Norm Peterson for a topic
Y'know, what we've seen from Akoy it just suggests this is a kid who, in his heart, deep down, really wants to come to Nebraska and is hoping to find that reason or justification that makes it make more sense than taking an opportunity to put on a Louisville uni and play for a former NBA coach. In a word, he's conflicted. It's apparent that he has strongly considered Nebraska, has a relationship with Miles, and hasn't totally given up the idea of playing here. It might not happen in the end, but it wouldn't be a shock if he changed his commit. Nor would it be a shock if he didn't. You might say, as far as Louisville, he's a soft commit.1 point -
Biggs Article

If Miles can continue to recruit like he has, I don't have a problem with Biggs NOT taking a redshirt this year and playing. Even though this season doesn't look all that promising you never know. Let's shock the world!! Ok, let's not finish 12th in the B1G. GATA!1 point -
Matthew Atewe -> Auburn -> Washington
TheGov21 reacted to TheKamdyMan for a topic
maybe you should do some research before saying anything. The reason most people for recruiting services dont know much about the guy is the fact that he backed up the nations #5 recruit last year at ND prep. This alone can prohibit a lot of people knowing who he even is because his minutes get limited due to playing behind a huge star. His team also featured offensive weapons in Xavier recruit Myles Davis, and Clemson recruit Adonis Filer so he didnt have any focus going his way. All 3 have graduated and Atewe will be one of the main focuses on the team this year.1 point -

Akoy Agau -> Louisville -> Georgetown
TheGov21 reacted to HuskerFever for a topic
Really just sounds like 2 scenarios. 1) Agau is using us to get more perks, or 2) Agau is legitimately drawn between both programs and may have committed to Louisville to mitigate his risk of drawing out the recruiting timeline.1 point -
Norm, all this advice is well and good, but I find that when I use a quill ink pen to take down the "URL", what happens when I use that quill pen to "Paste" the "URL" back into my computer's "Browser" it doesn't work all that well because, well, the ink dries on my monitor and then it blocks the addresses that come up in the future in my address bar. All of this is extremely tedious and messy. Why can't there just be a simple way to do all this inter netting? You know, like one singular place you could "dial in" to that would serve up all the information you could possibly want for easy consumption. A "portal to the world wide internet" sort of thing. It might even help prevent you from contracting any computer viruses, too. I would imagine there's some young buck, a "Prodigy" if you will, out there right now working on this very problem. I bet he even has a fancy name for this service, too, like..."America! Online!".1 point

Official previous post count thread
jimmykc reacted to Norm Peterson for a topic
OK, Jimmy, I'm going to take a swing at this. A "URL" is the thing that you type in to tell the computer what website you want to go to. It generally starts out with www(dot) something and generally ends with (dot)com or (dot)org or (dot)edu or sometimes (dot)ru if you're hitting up Russian porn sites. So, for example, to come here, I might type www(dot) frontierharleydavidson (dot)com. But if I typed that, I wouldn't come to this website; I'd go somewhere else. Funny thing about this internets. It's very picky. That's why they have the "www" part. It stands for "Where in the World have I Went?" which is grammatically incorrect on any number of levels, but the guy who invented the internet was better at math than English. Now, what they want you to do is to copy the URL from your profile page. Again, the URL is that thing that tells the computer where to go to. So get to your profile page somehow. Now, take out a quill, dip it in your ink well, and carefully write out each letter or number or symbol exactly as it's written and then come here and type in what you wrote down. Or, you can click on the area at the top of the screen where you see that URL and that should highlight it. Now, type "control" and "c" at the same time to copy. Or left click and scroll down to "copy." Then, come here to post and either hit "control" and "v" or left-click and select "paste." Either way works equally well. I find that if I hand write it, I feel a sense of accomplishment when it actually takes me to the site I intended to go to rather than redirecting me to a place that will try to dump some virus onto my system. And, speaking of computer viruses, now is probably a good time to talk about how to avoid them. The only foolproof way to avoid viruses is abstinence. Second best is computer monogamy by visiting this site and only this site. But, if you're going to mess around on a bunch of different sites, make sure to carry around some protection. Unfortunately, you can't wrap your computer in latex, so I would suggest a software program that you can download whenever you suddenly have some message flash up on your computer that says, "YOU MAY BE INFECTED! CLICK NOW FOR A FREE SCAN!" The great thing about that scan is it's free and I'm a little bit of a tightwad so that's a good thing for me.1 point
