Yeah I'd want Caffaro first. Tough call between an Amir and Wingett as far as team needs, honestly. Decent PGs who can run an offense are a little easier to find than 6'7" lights out shooters. Wingett can score the ball and make contested jumpers from just about anywhere. Can't teach that. Amir is a freak athlete--can't teach that either. It depends how we plan on using Burke as well--PG or SG? I'd offer all three and see who commits first. Quote

Decent true PG’s have been about as difficult to find as an NCAA tournament win for us the last 10-15 years. Quote

Coaches kid Posted May 1, 2018 Report Posted May 1, 2018 Does anybody know whether we have actively been recruiting Wingett? Quote
uneblinstu Posted May 1, 2018 Report Posted May 1, 2018 (edited) I don't think so. I know they're aware of him, though. Not sure if there's any recent contact. Edited May 1, 2018 by uneblinstu Quote

Yup...sorry, I meant Caffaro. We need a PG this cycle. I guess Thomas and Trueblood are serviceable, but we need a great PG to be able to step up and step in once Glynn moves on...don't you think? uneblinstu Posted May 1, 2018 Report Posted May 1, 2018 We'll still have another recruiting cycle to address that. And it looks like Miles is going after Harris, so it's probably all moot. Quote
bleujay Posted May 6, 2018 Report Posted May 6, 2018 auburn, arkansas, wichita state, nc state, and memphis getting involved. did not find anything saying he'd been offered by these schools. apparently a lot of schools took notice last weekend. Quote

Jacob Padilla Posted May 8, 2018 Report Posted May 8, 2018 FWIW, he's signing with somebody next week. Quote

nustudent Posted May 8, 2018 Report Posted May 8, 2018 Disappointing. We have room for open scholarships, random international players and transfers who will sit a year to a play one, maybe two but not a top notch scorer from our home state Quote
Huskerpapa Posted May 8, 2018 Report Posted May 8, 2018 I mentioned this elsewhere, but I am likely in the minority when I opine that I understand why we passed on this young man. Perhaps he has matured, but his game had a great number of holes in it coming out of high school. I would take Teddy, well before Wingett. Quote
nustudent Posted May 8, 2018 Report Posted May 8, 2018 Assuming Teddy wants to come. And it didn't have to be one or the other. Quote
AuroranHusker Posted May 8, 2018 Author Report Posted May 8, 2018 I'd take Teddy 1st and foremost. Wingett would be a nice project as well. Quote
Blindcheck Posted May 8, 2018 Report Posted May 8, 2018 Whatever level that video was...i don't think either squad could beat the JV reserve teams of some 3A teams in Iowa. God that was awful... Quote
Norm Peterson Posted May 8, 2018 Report Posted May 8, 2018 His game is actually reminiscent of another 6'7" lefty we once recruited by the name of Sai Tumalla. Sai went on to Arizona State where he rarely played. Quote
