Pretty sure Rutgers leads the B1G in rebounds. They simply out leap the opponents......and push, and shove, etc etc

It  looked like Rutgers kind of ran out of gas in 4th qtr...we then took advantage....loosing us...we beat them with the back door stuff. (missed a few easy ones...we might have been getting a little tired too.

And of course Nat drilled them in second half.... and it broke their confidence.

Rachel T made a big difference tonight. Jess did a nice job against their bigs...she doesn't play like a freshman...she wasn't afraid at all...none of our girls looked like they were afraid. Showed good confidence. Jess's baskets in 2nd and 3rd qtrs kept us in the game.

Burns (RB43) showed up well, and did her thing. Rebounded strong and made the important baskets. Looks like she's healed up and back !

Our defense was much better tonight, much better staying on their man. We for the most part held down their scorers below their average. Also helped us keep pace with them. We improved tonight in several ways. Not so many turnovers...that also helped us stay in the game ..........We improved tonight.

A very good win against a good team. Just a very good overall effort...we deserved to win that one !!

Looked to me like Burns really irritated Butts late in the game.

Did you see Butts give Burns a body shove when Butts walked past Burns, when Butts went out of the game in 4th qtr. ?  Did it right when the TV camera was on her.

Think the announcers got it right- Rutgers "Wiltered."

Yes, I saw her bump her twice going out of the game. You could tell she Butts was seriously irritated with her.

Nice win over a very physical team.  Rutgers plays "city" ball and we don't have many players from Metropolitan areas.  It will be a tough rematch in a couple of weeks at their place.

I am impressed with how the team is beginning to forge an identity and get some toughness.  Several missed bunnies were maddening but the execution to get those shots and the lack of turnovers was huge.  Blackburn's follow shot might have been one of the big plays of the game though Romeo's 3's were the momentum changer.

I might have been a little to hard on this group in some earlier postings but the team today should make Husker fans proud.  Tied with a road men's victory...not a bad day for the Huskers in BB!

I hope Havers has no ill effects from the game.  She flat got the stuffings not out of her a couple of times.  Not the type of team she matches up with very well.  On the other hand serious kudos to a true freshman coming off a torn ACL injury who doesn't seam intimidated by anybody however big they are.  Just keep working on those free throws.
