DID!!!   ;)   Haven't listened to the whole interview, but at the beginning, Bo Treys?? (a former Husker tennis player - he doesn't do a very good job of identifying himself), and his podcast "What do you get"?? mentions this is the 13th podcast in his series.  If you like this one, he invited all to scroll down (not available in this link) to see if any of his other podcasts sounded interesting.

He also had interviews with Leslee and Tai...both good listens. It's Beau Treyz. I'm going to save this one for the next time I mow my lawn...which is also about an hour playing time.

The Leslee and Tai episodes are linked up in the Official Media Thread, I meant to get this one in there too when it came out on Friday but it slipped my mind and I wasn't able to get to it.  So, thanks to Hooper for putting it up.

BTW, great interview...i need to listen to it again.

Some highlights I remember

- FWIW White has always been a late bloomer

- Chose Nebraska because he trusts Kenya Hunter + the opportunity for playing time

- Focused on shooting in High School because of the demand for the skill set

- Seems very mature and focused...a team centric guy concerned about winning as well as becoming a pro

White's coaches and teammates have definitely taken notice of how that offseason work has improved his already impressive shooting ability. Senior point guard Benny Parker said he was initially surprised when White would get into a zone and knock down 3-pointer after 3-pointer in practice, but it's happened so frequently that he now just considers par for the course.

spacer1.gif1623464.jpg USA Today Sports spacer1.gifHead coach Tim Miles called White a shooter that NU hasn't seen in some time. "I think Andrew can bring a lot for us," Parker said. "He's a hard worker, and he knows what it takes to win. He's been in a winning program at KU, so he's bringing that to us here, about working hard, getting extra shots.

"He's always in the gym. He's just got a tough mindset, and I think he can help us with that, especially in the Big Ten."

A little off topic but as relevant here as anywhere without a new topic or down in the media section.

What is to come with small ball? 2008-2009 repeat?

Perhaps using more zone. Miles said he wouldn’t discount some junk defenses, too, notably triangle-and-two and box-and-one, when necessary.

The article gives me mixed feelings ---  it is great that there is a guy that can make wide open threes against a zone defense, but somewhat depressing that Benny Parker and others find the making of wide open threes surprising.  :D

I'm still holding out hope that Miles finds some 7 foot tall Russian beast to enroll before classes start.  Maybe they'll find one in the plains of Spain.  "I will break your full-court press."

C'on Norm;  You know  better 'n that!   :o   'You're' is 'You Are.'  'Your' is the possessive.

(But if it's a 7' Russian Beast say'n it, I'm not gonna argue!  ;)

You're right.  I do know better than that.   As jimmy has told me before, though, I don't type with a very good Russian accent.
