TheKamdyMan Posted June 24, 2015 Report Posted June 24, 2015 Hes definitely one to keep an eye on but I doubt he ever gets a NU offer unless its a Bakari Evelyn type situation late in the 2017 signing period and they need a serviceable player to add to the class that could possibly provide some minutes off the bench. Norm Peterson Posted June 24, 2015 Report Posted June 24, 2015 This is no reflection on the kid, but let me just say I hate the video and whoever put it together needs to 86 all the special effects and bullcrap. It's a lousy video. Slowing down the important parts of the play means you can't tell how explosive the kid was or wasn't when he did what he did. Repeating some pass 5 times in rapid succession doesn't make the pass look any better. The camera angles were horrible, shot from the baseline. You see a shot go up and in and you figure it must have been him who took it but you can't be sure because the view was blocked by multiple other players. So you can't tell if he has good technique or even if it was him shooting. Particularly bad is when they go into slo-mo mode. The player does NOT look explosive when you slow the action down UNLESS he's going in for a jam. If he draws the ball way behind his head and throws it down two-handed, you know he had to have ups to do it and it looks cool in slo-mo mode. But a layup? WTF? I can't comment on the kid because whoever did the video made these highlights practically unwatchable. Unless you're Jordan Usher's mom or AAU coach or something. Quote
KarlHessEatMy.... Posted June 24, 2015 Report Posted June 24, 2015 I was going to say the same thing Norm. The video alone doesn't want me to see Nebraska pick him up... LOL. I was gunna search for a better video. Norm Peterson 1 Quote

Brandon4Real_X Posted June 24, 2015 Report Posted June 24, 2015 Just did some googling on him and according to Max Preps, he averaged 22PPG and 8RPG last year. Quote
fred1212 Posted June 24, 2015 Report Posted June 24, 2015 that's how you turn a 45 second video into 4 minutes. On a visit, like today, do they suit the kid up and run him thru some tests or just show them around? Norm Peterson 1 Quote

Word must get back to Miles that he did all right. Quote

GATA Posted June 25, 2015 Report Posted June 25, 2015 Is it a commitable offer? Good question. Does our staff hand out non-committable offers? Quote
Silverbacked1 Posted June 25, 2015 Report Posted June 25, 2015 On his tweeter is shows him doing a couple of nice fancy dunks and was the winner of the dunks contest at some Elite 80 camp. He also seem like a good kid from his tweets. I am not stalking, I just clicked on it because it was on the picture above. So don't yell at me. Swan88 1 Quote
TheKamdyMan Posted June 25, 2015 Report Posted June 25, 2015 Dang it. The kid was here two weeks ago for a tournament and I didnt go because all of the stars for his AAU program werent coming (2 5* players on his team). Now I would have seen him play had I just gone. I have let us down. Quote

Possibly (maybe even probably), but my point is that it can't be a try-out per se. Unscripted, in other words. Quote

College football teams hold camps all the time (such as the satellite camps that Nebraska just ran), and then frequently make offers based on players' performance at said camps. The only difference I see is that the football camps feature high school players competing against other high school players, whereas Usher would have been playing with current collegiate athletes. Seems like a prospect that Miles would be intrigued with on the level of a possible B1G offer at some point. Looks like high-major interest in Usher is not limited to Nebraska. Hopefully, Robin Washut won't be upset with this, but here is some info he recently provided on interest in Usher from other schools(by the way, the article has great information and is well worth the price of admission): Usher has "garnered strong interest from other schools like Arizona, Georgia, LSU, Texas A&M, Arizona State and Xavier." He "expects to earn other tenders from Georgia, LSU and Texas A&M in the very near future," he plans to take other unofficial visits "to Georgia and LSU," and he "has trips to Virginia and Penn State set in August."
