Yesterday was the first time I got a chance to check in on our guy and I must, indeed, be a jinx. I watched only the third quarter and , to be quite honest, Terran stunk. He was instrumental in blowing a huge Atlanta lead by showing some of the tendencies which sometimes plagued him at NU by trying to do too much when he obviously did not have his "A" game going. He couldn't guard his man, missed open 3 pointers, took ill advised early shots, fumbled a pick and roll and then appeared to blame his teammate who made the pass, and generally acted frustrated. I think this all stems from the effort he puts forth and hope that the Hawks evaluate his whole summer performance and not this one snapshot. At least the coaches didn't bench him and must be trying to let him show his true skills.

At least Terran wasn't the only one on his team who stunk. Nobody could make shots in the second half. And when the Spurs turned up the heat on defense, no one was immune to the turnover bug. Terran had the hardest defensive assignment to boot (Summer League MVP Kyle Anderson), who had a noticeable size/skill advantage over him.

Remember that Terran would be the 10th-15th guy on the team somewhere.  He wont have to be the focal point, like he was at NU or for a good majority of summer league, which takes off the pressure.  I really think the pressure of being "the man" is what leads TP to forcing things.  His first couple games when he wasn't necessarily the main guy he was doing quite a few things with and without the ball.  That last game he had kind of become the defacto man with the ball and he started reverting back to some bad habits from NU.  I think he would be a very good deep bench guy that can give you some good minutes when resting guys and need someone to fill a gap on a team.

especially on that Alanta team, which has kinda turned into Spurs East, he would be a Cory Joseph type

A little more information from the link:

Patterson spent last season playing in Turkey and showed improvement in Summer League earlier this month. He averaged 13.1 points in seven games in Vegas while shooting a crisp 45 percent from the field. Petteway averaged 10.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists. He shot 39 percent from the field and 29 percent from three-point range.

The training camp deals are non-guaranteed meaning that both players will need to earn there way onto the team's final roster. Atlanta currently has 14 players under contract for next season and has one open spot remaining on the roster.

No matter what you may think of Mr. Barnes, this tweet is gold: ( especially w/ 'final 4' as the "FINAL FOUR"  :D )

And another, for good measure:

Who is that red headed stranger in that picture? :). And are the others asking for a couple of bucks.

I believe it's pronounced You Bell. ;)

Not to be negative here, but if the Hawks keep the other guy or leave the spot open, what next? Does he go to Europe, to the scout squad, or the NBA "B" league or whatever they call it? Hopefully he will catch on and eventually make some serious money from his basketball skills. Terran deserves it.
