comment in the post game press conference.  I know I shouldn't be but the lack of media attention to him dropping an f bomb AND the N word with no back lash surprises me.  Reverse the roles and there would be a media uproar.

While that specific topic has been discussed, maybe not as thoroughly as others, I feel playing the "what if" only serves to aggravate a situation and simply focuses on the negative.  At the end of the day, Kaminsky accepted Harrison's apology and wants to focus on the national championship game.  Kaminsky is a high character guy and should be commended for dealing with the situation as an adult.  Let's move on to what could be a great national championship game.

Sorry Donkey while I agree Frank is the bigger man for accepting the apology, truth is there would be a firestorm had Kaminsky utter that comment.  And no, the media has NOT discussed it in nearly the same tone or length as when the kids from OU used it (and yes they were idiots for using the word).  Why is it taboo to call Harrison out for using an offensive word?

I guess that the N word now has two different contextual scenarios that it is used in. One is the racial context. Many have taken it that way and believe Harrison was using a "racial slur". That's what the ESPN bottom line kept saying anyway. The other scenario it is frequently used in is the younger generation using it as a term or endearment (not saying it should/shouldn't be used that way that's just the way it is). Then there's the entire argument of who can/can't use it and if it should be used at all.

It probably shouldn't be used at all and definitely Harrison, although mad, shouldn't have used it in that setting. His mistake was instead of saying, "Man, that kid can play and certainly got the better of us" he decided to go with "F- that N-".

I'm glad he apologized and Frank handled it well also. Things seem to be going in the correct direction and I'm glad the media isn't overhyping this.

"F___ that n_____."

Andrew Harrison in reference to Frank Kaminsky.

Oooooooops.

Fondle that nipple?

No wait.  That was a German guy.....

I'm pretty sure he dropped some change on the floor and he was telling his teammates "find that nickle." ;)

What's Kaminsky supposed to do?  Allow comments by a disgruntled Kentucky player to distract his team from preparing for the national title game?

There are a lot of situations where an apology should be enough and we all should just move on but there does seem to be a double standard about who gets to move on with an apology and who doesn't.

No question that a double standard exists.  No question.  That said, it would be wonderful if society could move to a place and time where a stupid statement could be solved by an apology...

That word is negative... plain and simple.  There is no reason to use it... plain and simple.  I don't care that Kaminsky accepted the apology, this topic shouldn't be dropped... plain and simple.

I would echo the sentiment that the context in which Andrew used the word is very different than if a white player used it to address a black player. Don't care what you have to say about double standards, but anyone with a brain should be able to distinguish the two sets of circumstances and realize one of them would spark a lot more controversy than the other

Sure.  I agree with that.

That's not the double standard I was referring to.
