huskerchode Posted January 19, 2015 Report Posted January 19, 2015 My personal belief is that playing time is earned no matter how many stars you have. Bugeaters1 1 Quote
Bugeaters1 Posted January 19, 2015 Report Posted January 19, 2015 You simply can't afford to lose kids like this and step up your contention as a major program. Parents or not, a five star kid needs minutes immediately. Not bench time, see what happens? How do you start a kid that has 0 DI experience, with 536 games played by the five that start? My guess is you don't. http://www.huskers.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPID=25&DB_OEM_ID=100&ATCLID=209852905 Quote

KarlHessEatMy.... Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 This made me laugh this morning!!! This family sounds like a bunch of winners. I wonder if Kaylee will leave K-State by February next year. I think they should start their own college with just the 2 page sisters and their father can be the coach!! HuskerActuary 1 Quote
huskerchode Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 KARMA IS A B*TCH, ISN'T IT?!!!! Quote
Silverbacked1 Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 It sounds like he needed to teach this to his oldest. But I guess we see somethings that might answer some questions. Quote
redsteve Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 You would think this would raise the eye brows of the school administration......his own kid quits Nebraska (dad told her to quit ?) Then most of his HS players quits his team. Any connection to dad at all ? Dads light seems to be a little dim. Dad seems to have let this whole thing go to his head, and he can't figure out.... where is reality?. Suppose Kaylee and Lanie see anything unusual? Karma? Quote
huskerchode Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 I wouldn't be surprised if he is no longer the coach there after this season. I still think he winds up on the bench at one of the schools that one of his kids will be at. Will Kaylee and Lanie be successful at the college level with/without him? Quote

If he had let them go to college and wasn't a "helicopter dad" they probably would be fine.....sorry but it's to late for a mature way to lead your (his) kids. He may well have screwed up their bball future.... probably. Silverbacked1 and KarlHessEatMy.... 2 Quote
atskooc Posted February 18, 2015 Report Posted February 18, 2015 Page has been terminated. Not renewing his contract after the season. He was suspended for last night's game. http://www.wibw.com/home/headlines/Wamego-Girls-Basketball-Coach--292401781.html Quote
Silverbacked1 Posted February 18, 2015 Report Posted February 18, 2015 Wow, I think this is going to be fun to watch from afar, not if it was your kid going to that school thou. Feel sorry for those girls that quit, must have been bad because your senior year is your year and to say bye to a team must have been really tough. I hate to think what has happened down there, but it must be awful. Quote
huskerchode Posted February 18, 2015 Report Posted February 18, 2015 Too bad they couldn't just let him go immediately. Might have gotten those girls back to finish out the season, but I suppose that could be a dangerous precedent to set. Sucks for those seniors. Quote
whoopdeedoo Posted February 18, 2015 Report Posted February 18, 2015 crazy. about a month or so ago, i was kind of questioning if that situation between coach yori and the pages could have been handled better on both sides. kind of a normal reaction i would say when you aren't privy to any inside knowledge. as far as kansas, it must have been pretty ugly. without knowing any details, i have to feel for his daughters. wonder what the mother is thinking? wish the best for all involved and hope his daughters get things pointed in the right direction. seems they may need some strong advice. KarlHessEatMy.... Posted February 18, 2015 Report Posted February 18, 2015 I wonder if this will hurt Lanie's recruitment along with knowing what happened to her sister just getting up and leaving a school already. Assuming most college's would love to have either of them playing for them but wonder if they want to deal with the drama that might follow along with them . Quote
huskerchode Posted February 18, 2015 Report Posted February 18, 2015 I'm sure coaches will ask lots of questions, wouldn't they have to? I thought the same when Kaylee left - why would you be interested unless you had a long sit down with her and the family? It's not like she left the team because of hardship or a coaching change. Kaylee has at least landed at a place, but Lanie is still looking. It cannot be a good situation for her. Quote
atskooc Posted February 18, 2015 Report Posted February 18, 2015 I'm calling Wamego's games next Tuesday. I'll let you know if I find anything out. Quote
redsteve Posted February 18, 2015 Report Posted February 18, 2015 When do you suppose dad will figure out he has totally screwed up everything........his daughters bball future? (the girls will never forget it)....his HS team ? Do you suppose mom has seen the light? Or will it be someone elses fault ? Don't feel a bit sorry for dad......but yes, just about everyone else......really unfortnate for a long list of people. Quote
