Buzz Williams to Virginia Tech

I know this isn't Nebraska related, but what a strange move for him. This really says a lot about the new Big East.

This really says a lot about the demise of the Big East. The "new" Big East is nothing more than a mid major at this point, and everyone outside of Omaha knows it. Va Tech seems to be a graveyard for coaches but I guess Buzz wants to give it a shot in the ACC. Good for him.

The challenge to win in the ACC far exceeds the Big LEast at this point in time, I'd imagine. Good for Buzz to step up to the big time!

It's not so much about the Big East as much as it was the structure, or lack thereof, at Marquette. There's been a lot of talk about how unhappy he has been with administration at MU but can't believe it was that much to take over VT.

Apparently he was not getting along with some in the administration. Their AD left which opened a clause in his contract reducing his buyout to $100,000 from 2 mill to be able to leave for another job. Timing was good for him.

He did say the move to the new big east played a role. He even took a pay cute to go to Virginia tech.
