ajb5856 Posted January 20, 2014 Report Posted January 20, 2014 Anyone who has a problem with people standing, take it up with Tim Miles. Exactly. This entire discussion on standing and cheering is dumb. Go to the games. Do what you do. Don't piss anyone off. If you stand and cheer that is good and more people need to do it. If it gets to the point it needs to where the sit down people are the minority, they will eventually go away or just put up with it and not say anything. I for one do not listen to those sit down people. Quote

Bugeaters1 Posted January 20, 2014 Report Posted January 20, 2014 We're in 116 and yes, we donate. I am a person who enjoys spectating at a game. I yell, clap when appropriate, but i do not stand until breaks in the action. Others that have spent decent sums of money deserve to see the game without having to ask others to stop obstructing our views. If I want to engage the guy in front of me about stopping his blocking of my view of the court, then i'll go watch a game at Brewsky's or something. Every fan, particularly ones footing the bill, should be able to completely watch the game in some resemblance of peace  Lol...would you all keep it quiet at the game. Stiltz is trying to enjoy the game in peace. BTW...anyone know how to get the players shoes to stop squeeking and to make the ball bounce off the court a little quieter? Seriously... if you want sports and peace....maybe going to a golf tournament is more your style. You should have been at the women's game yesterday, It was louder than loud. Amazing at what 6100 people can do. Quote

I hope you were able to get out of PBA early enough tonight to get to your car and on your way home in time to catch the end of the game because, by the looks of things, there would have been people standing in your way most of the 2nd half. Â There's a name for people like that. Â We call them "fans." Quote
hhcmatt Posted January 21, 2014 Report Posted January 21, 2014 Did you guys hear anything up there tonight? Quote
Nighthawk Posted January 21, 2014 Report Posted January 21, 2014 Oh it was so quiet in the upper levels. You could hear a cricket churp. Granted that the cricket is standing In front of a microphone.... and granted the cricket sounds like Lemmy from Motorhead. Quote
Section_316 Posted January 21, 2014 Report Posted January 21, 2014 At times it was ROCKING.. I still get a lot of "sit downs" & "hey dude, were 0-4 in the league, why are you getting so excited" from the people in my section… Can't wait for that to change someday... Quote
Huskerpapa Posted January 21, 2014 Report Posted January 21, 2014 I thought the crowd was loud. The only time I was asked to sit (sorry, kind of a habit now to stand) was when the gymnists came out at half and the dude was very nice when he said it was likely okay with Miles to sit through this portion of the game.  By the way, I went home and watched the replay, and the place sure sounded loud to me. hhcmatt Posted January 21, 2014 Report Posted January 21, 2014 "hey dude, were 0-4 in the league, why are you getting so excited" from the people in my section  Did someone actually say that to you?!?!? Quote
bkamler Posted January 21, 2014 Report Posted January 21, 2014 We are in the 200 section and I was standing and cheering and yelling st the refs more than I was sitting. We are near geezer age and I have two ruptured discs in my back that makes it very painful to stand but that doesn't stop me from standing to show my support. The fans that leave early with the game undecided continues to amaze me. Why go when you leave during the most tense part of the game? jdostal 1 Quote
Silverbacked1 Posted January 21, 2014 Report Posted January 21, 2014 It was loud, but I like that it was louder on the court, because that is where the noise really needs to focus. Quote
Bugeaters1 Posted January 21, 2014 Report Posted January 21, 2014 Here is the reaction of a guy that works at PBA from last nights game. These are my tweets with him.   was it as loud as the women's game yesterday Steve     9:58 PM - 20 Jan 2014 · Steve Borer @bugseaters1 louder Tony! The crowd was as loud as I can remember! Quote

hal9000 Posted January 21, 2014 Report Posted January 21, 2014  Did you guys hear anything up there tonight? I was able to fart without worry of anyone hearing it.  Then again, maybe that's why some people left early. Norm Peterson 1 Quote

BDL415 Posted January 22, 2014 Report Posted January 22, 2014 With about 10 seconds left when people started to leave some guy behind me yelled "Where the hell are you all going got some place to be?" I would agree with that but with 10 seconds left I don't think it's that bad to leave Quote

Then what  Then no one knows it was him. C'mon, Bugeaters. This is elementary man stuff. If it can't be traced to the offender, cut the cheese. That's like Rule #5 or something. Close to the top of the list. Right after "Leave the toilet seat up." Wayne Pesek Posted January 23, 2014 Report Posted January 23, 2014 Why do female volleyball players stand, and male basketball players sit? (During games.) hhcmatt 1 Quote
Silverbacked1 Posted January 23, 2014 Report Posted January 23, 2014 Why do female volleyball players stand, and male basketball players sit? (During games.) Refs always make the benches sit down in basketball games. Might be because they are so close to the court that the ref might not be able to tell the players as to who is in and not in the game. Also might help them from getting on the court if there is a problem( cough Gibbs cough) Quote
