He was listed at 6'1" as a freshman, and 6'8" as a sophomore.  My models therefore project him to be 8'5" by his sophomore year of college.

Won't make it to his sophomore year.  The NBA rarely passes up on 8 footers when they have the chance.

Grateful to have received an offer from Drake University!!

I really like this kids potential. Junior to be for Grand Island High.

I was told by a high school coach that this kid is the real deal. Said he's the next Wes Wilkinson. Not stylistically, but just major college kid coming out of GI.

Yup, saw the same thing.  Like all kids that grow that much so fast he needs to get stronger but his agility is not bad.

Is he the grandson of the Traudt out of GI that was a referee?

Bloodlines are in relation to Tom Kropp being a family relative. Yes, I believe the ref part is likely also a familial situation. I know of quite a few of the Traudts, but not necessarily closely. The Kropp clan from Aurora, NE, are my connection to the G.I. Traudts.

Played a few pick up games in college with Tom Kropp.  Guy could play!  I could not.

But you could coach! You obviously got more out of that advanced basketball class than I did. 😉😀

Fall of 1983-December of 1987.  Kropp was back after finishing up his pro career and was starting his coaching career.

We may have crossed paths on campus.  Was there from 1980 to December of 1984.

Could be.  I would be the one that even though the receding hairline was starting I was still trying to grow out my hair like John Taylor of Duran Duran.  It didn't work.

Spent most of my days in Bruner Hall of Science or at Dugans.

Wal's always been talented but it never translated to consistent, efficient production. It looks like he's finally turned a corner this season. He's got a D-II offer but that's all right now. I'm guessing he's headed for the junior college route.

Oh, and Tim Miles still likes him.
