Really?  Poor guy.  No wonder he's driving around in an old Plymouth Reliant.  Well, at least it's a red one.

I guess I was surprised that more staffers didn't play at Firethrone.  Seems like that's the place that I've heard most of them play.  But who knows, they probably buy their own membership over there.

I guess I was surprised that the University supplies the football coach's wife with a car.

And I added up the salaries of Connie Yori ($693,396), Sunny Smallwood ($182,553) and Shimmy Gray-Miller ($164,800) and see that the women's coaches are making BANK!  I wonder what the women's program grosses per year in revenue compared to what they pay out in salaries.  That seems like a lot, especially when the head men's coach at D1 powerhouse UNO is only making $115,500.

This whole thing bothers me.  Why do we give the highest paid employees personal vehicles?  No offense to Mary Pat, but why exactly does she get one?  The cost of the 2013 Lexus is probably close to or more than a yearly salary for a professor. 

 

Oh well, good for them.

Firethorn is a great course, but Lincoln Country Club has more amenities by far, which families like--tennis, better swimming pool, etc.  Most of the coaches don't have time to work on their golf games or devote much time to golf--and Firethorn is geared toward serious golf rather than a country club atmosphere.  Firethorn beats you up if you're not pretty good.  So LCC makes more sense for most of them, especially those with wives and kids at home.   I don't see many coaches over there (Firethorn) playing; Jamie WIlliams is there quite a bit. Sadler played there some, but was a fixture at LCC.
