Tim Miles Proving Doubters Wrong - Corn Nation

http://www.cornnation.com/2014/3/25/5541726/tim-miles-proving-doubters-wrong

Is there a more popular figure in Nebraska than Tim Miles right now? After this season's unexpected rush to the NCAA Mens' Basketball Tournament, it's hard to argue that anybody not named Tom Osborne has a higher approval rating. His results speak for themselves. But for many people, they didn't need that NCAA tournament berth to be a fan of Miles. He has an everyman touch and connects to fans on all levels. It doesn't hurt that he interacts with fans on Twitter either. So many people have been fans of the Miles hire well before Nebraska shocked the Big Ten by finishing fourth after being picked to finish dead last. (Don't think that'll happen again anytime soon, either.)

2013-14 Husker Basketball Ignores Skeptics, Waltzes Past Historic Barriers, Raises Bar - Corn Nation

http://www.cornnation.com/2014/3/27/5552444/2014-nebraska-basketball-recap-tim-miles

It was just over two years ago, March 24, 2012. Tim Miles was introduced as the new head basketball coach at the University of Nebraska. Who was this guy? He wasn't John Groce. He wasn't Ben Howland.

"Have you ever heard of him?"

"No, I've got no clue who he is"

That was the common conversation around the copiers and over text messages among the 6,000 or so Nebraska basketball fans that were paying attention to what was happening with the not-so-prolifc basketeers down on Court St.

And why would anyone know who he was? Nebraska fans had long forsook college basketball that season. No one except a few people in Ralston paid any attention to Colorado State basketball. Half an hour later, he had the state buzzing. Two years later, he had taken Big Ten basketball by storm and this Miles guy had a basketball team that fans have fallen head over heels for.

With his introductory press conference in mind, this is a look back at what was a magical 2013-14 season.

Big Ten leads all conferences in NCAA tourney earnings - ESPN

http://espn.go.com/college-sports/story/_/id/10728528/big-ten-leads-all-conferences-ncaa-tourney-earnings

The Big Ten will make the most money of any conference from this year's men's NCAA tournament.

With six of its teams playing in a total of 16 games, the Big Ten will get about $25.6 million from the NCAA during a six-year period.

Conferences receive a unit for each game their teams play in the tournament except the final. Those units are then paid out in each of the next six years, with the value of those units increasing by approximately $5,000 per year.

What do way-too-early preseason Top 25 polls say about Ohio State? - Land Grant Holy Land

http://www.landgrantholyland.com/2014/4/9/5597076/ohio-state-2014-2015-basketball-preseason-top-25

It's not really Husker related, but for a little blurb at the end of the article I found very interesting...

It's so insanely early, but with potential defections at Michigan and Michigan State, some more rebuilding at Indiana, and a slew of talented youngsters joining the program, there are plenty of reasons to be optimistic about Ohio State, and their ability to compete with Wisconsin, Maryland, Nebraska and the Michigans for the top spots in the Big Ten next season. Don't be surprised to see Ohio State climb on some of these lists before the season starts, and if not, maybe then we can cry about disrespect on Twitter and Facebook.

Respect.

From Ohio State.

Just wow.

Let that soak in for a minute why don't you?
