Okay... Might have a kidney for sale, that ought to get me enough cash to get though this season... Don't they go for about $25,000 on the black market? :)

Really?  We can sell Kidney on the black market and make $25,000?   Sounds too good to be true.

Are you sure it's not having to pay $25,000 to get rid of him?

Okay, now I'm thinking about just moving in to the PBA...

Dang, that Mac N Cheese one...

I'm hungry... can I get a fruit one & a mac/cheese please? ... delivered. ;)

looks good.  I guess the question I have is where is all this stuff going to be offered?  I believe that there is some stuff that the people sitting in the club seats get that the rest of us don't get.

Okay I didn't want to start a whole new thread, so I dredged this one up.

As many of you know I'm kind of a facilities geek, and I like to track new stadium/arena construction around the country.  One of the projects I've been keeping an eye on is the new arena that Ole Miss is building.  It's a smaller venue, but looks like it's going to turn out real nice.  You can check out a live webcam here:  http://livecam.olemiss.edu/parking-stadium/full.html

One thing to note is they say that they will have the biggest video screen in college hoops.  It doesn't look all that huge to me.

How's the progress look now at Illinois, 9er? The transformation of State Farm Arena will be complete soon, I'd imagine.

Looking good.  Most of the work will be done this year but I guess they will be replacing the scoreboard next year:

That looks similar to what Auburn did. Small, intimate, probably makes for a good home court advantage, but not enough interest in those parts to justify a 15K arena. Wonder how that affects the SEC at large. Is that something that keeps programs down, smaller venues? I'm guessing they're still not selling it out. I'm cool with the SEC downsizing their buildings.

If anybody would like to see what it looks like installing a basketball court, they're doing it right now at the Ole Miss arena:

Why are these buildings round?

Why not?  Unless they're football stadiums that will generally be oblong by nature, there appears to be many reasons to build them to be as spherical (to as much extent as possible) as it can so the 'dome' effect can be provided over a flat-plate of the floor surface. Seems to be a fairly cost effective & structurally sound solution.

It just seems a bit quirky to have a basketball floor in a round building. It's not like they can use for much other than a circus maybe.

Good point, circuses are kind of fun if you're not creeped out by clowns. (just clowning around, Bug)

Acoustics are usually pretty good in a sphere.  I don't know all the aesthetic reasons, but it does seem to be a pretty good way to go for many multi-use venues that have music, sports & various other forms of entertainment.

(Objectively) Couldn't the same thing be said about our program as well? I will say though that it sure has been more than a pleasant surprise to see the interest that has popped up since PBA opened up.

Absolutely, I actually wanted something similar to what Oregon did (sans the goofy court design), but they went big instead. I thought 15K was way too big (for NU hoops). Turns out it probably was the right decision. We'll see where things stand in 5-10 years.

Plans can be developed to increase attendance to north of 18k with an upper addition to the north open end, much like Omaha's arena.

Well...I can tell that the building can handle a good rock show.  Was at the concert last night in the 9th row of section 112.  Floor was shaking almost the whole game.  I do have to say that they do need to have someone go around and check out the chairs though.  the arm rest on my seat was already busted.
