I have been surprised with Rollie’s turnovers, but I can’t deny that his size has been an advantage that helped against Creighton and other teams with smaller guards. A true 6’5” 215 pound point guard isn’t something we’ve had often.

Juwan hitting 3 threes last night was encouraging. GG doesn’t have the confidence right now. He’s a great shooter in practice and was one of the best over the summer. But he’s a liability defensively. And turns it over. I’m afraid he will be on the bench for a while

Yes.  Our length on the perimeter is insane when Rollie and Brice are guarding the 1-2 at 6’5 (with weight) and 6’7”.  Add Juwan who can also guard 1-5 and is a bully with 1-2 physical trees helping and cleaning up the glass and they are really tough. Rollie also rebounds well and puts a ton of pressure on defenses in transition as a result.  He hasn’t had elite TO:A but it’s still decent.  Having kids like him is sort of like having a power running game in FB.  It doesn’t show up in the stats but it tends to wear down opponents.

Our team has been elite at getting to the line and making FTs.  Their defense is as good as any NU team I’ve ever seen to this point in a season.  MSU is a very similar team to us with a little more in the front court.  Terrible matchup.  But we’re definitely going to be a team no one wants to play because it will be ugly so often.  Fine by me.

Dimes slacking on the Meah dunk infographic is not the championship-level performance I expect from this program.

I'm traveling for the holidays. Listened to the first half of the game on the radio. Need to verify that he just had the two.

Beating Hawaii is pretty fun.  It about started like the last three games we played them.  I remember following the 2004 NIT game on the yahoo sports stat tracker.  Were there more fans at the 2006 game?  Nice to have the lead at half.

Absolutely shut down probably their best shooter (Greene) in the 2nd half.  The defense of stifling.  How often do you see a defense force two shot clock violations?  Felt like we were in control but with six minutes left it was still a 6 point game.

We have played a lot more one-on-one offense in this tournament.  Early in the 2nd half it was pretty clear we needed to go through either Brice or Juwan.  Great leadership and energy from those two.

This tournament the reffing is letting the games flow so we certainly are getting some conditioning.  I don't mind it.  Big 10 reffing can be way worse.

Playing for a championship is pretty cool.  Doesn't happen that often.

It looks to me as though Rollie has nice form on his jump shot. Makes you wonder whether he is having the same problem as Gavin, trying way too hard and not just letting it go. On a positive note, if these guys can find their stroke (and confidence) we're gonna be a tough team for anyone to handle.

No. Rollie's deal is that he's never been much better than a 30% 3pt shooter and he should only take those shots as needed. Sometimes it feels like he'll take one at the end of a game we are winning so it makes it slightly harder to profile him as a guy who you don't need to guard at the 3.

Maybe it's the last couple of games moving the needle but the numbers offensively and defensively are significantly better when Worster is on the court

Last year's team was going to be three heavy. You could see it a mile away because everyone could take 3s. This season would be a disaster is we shot them at the same rate because it's not built the same.

We have posts and PGs that aren't threats from 3. We're stronger rebounding and generating turnovers but unfortunately have been sloppy with the ball. The slightly surprising upside is that we've generated FT attempts at a rate higher than any Fred Hoiberg team to date.

There is a very good argument that production at the FT line is fickle. From my experience, the same can be said about making 3s. This is a different team and hopefully the outcome is that the matchups benefit us with success in the tourney

I was watching the game with a casual Husker fan who said he thought worster was terrible last night and I tried to explain to him that I’m not sure what I’d qualify him as good at but we seem to be pretty good in the minutes he’s on the court.  I prefer him on the court with meah at all times and I think he needs to take more of those jump shots around the free throw line in the 2 man games.

Are we better with Worster or would we be better if we still had J Law playing PG?  I lean J Law just because of his shooting.

Give me Rollie every day and I really like JLaw and wish he was still here

I think it’s a mistake to compare this year to last year.

While we are turning the ball over more, we are also getting more turnovers.

We are much better rebounding and defensive team.

We are an extremely deep team.

We have 3 potential volume scorers.

I’m not concerned with RW. We are better with him on the court.

SH has taken a diminished role, however his impact coming off the bench is noticeable. We all know what he brings to the table and it’s all good. Interesting CE low production against UH, even though he played 20 min. Didn’t even notice him. Need to find ways to get him involved in the offense. AM  needs to be more consistent.
