Should be an exciting game to attend in person. 🎇 Wish I were in the Lincoln area.  😉

This game is crucial for Husker NCAA tourney hopes. Maul ‘em early & no late game letdowns please. Seems simple enough.

as before, the recipe is

  • secure rebounds - don't let quicker opponents slash into our established space and/or steal the ball off our hands
  • no crazy passes - uncatchable lobs into the paint, attempts to floor pass the ball thru two defenders, lazy cross court passes ripe for interception
  • no freeze ups when bigs get the ball in the paint near the rim - either put it up or pass it back out - don't get tied up or dance yourself into a traveling call
  • make the bunnies.

We need to go 3-3 down the stretch to even entertain a thought of the NCAA tourney. From here on out we need no bad loses. This game maybe our best chance to get a win against a team ahead of us. If there was a time to play a complete game tonight's the night.

Decent first half overall. They can't slow down Markowski (almost a double double already) and friends, very much inside. They might start double teaming Markowski.       Our three shots are going in pretty well, but will have to keep it up in the second half.

But our guards on defense are getting their lunch handed to them. They're getting beat off the ball with regularity.

Illinois isn't shooting well overall. don't know if they shoot the 3, but so far not so much. If they can pick up their percentages, the game could change.  Expect to see more full court defense by ILL.

It ain't over. They're well coached...so expect some changes by them in second half.

I like that we are using our post players and that they are being effective.  I like that the sloppy play has been reduced.

I don’t like our posts leaving 4 points at the free throw line.

We have a huge break if Genesis Bryant is unable to return.

I prefer NIT.

Why wish to play a powerhouse and get blown out the first game.  I prefer playing more competitive schools from around the country and giving the team more experiences and seeing more games.
