Nebraska (7-12) (2-6) vs. Rutgers (14-5) (5-3) Game Thread

My thoughts exactly. Neither team is playing all that great. If we catch Rutgers flat footed in a couple sprints this 2nd half, we can control the game. Of course, the opposite can happen too.

What a great group of players on this team. Not great players, just a great group. It's never easy to go out there and fight for 20, and then 40 minutes twice a week and have it pay off so rarely, and then go back out there and do it again. These guys battle. They have my admiration.

Sure enough, Jacob Young, a 26 percent shooter from deep so far this year, buries his first two.

Yup - love the effort today. Honestly, it's been pretty good effort the last few games - minus a brief stretch vs IU. These guys are finally figuring out what kind of effort it takes in D-1 basketball on both ends of the floor. Another baby step forward.

 

To keep doing it when you're undersized and a 15-point underdog every time you step on the floor is pretty impressive. Night and day from what we were seeing in the first month of the season.

 

Hope we can keep it going in the final 20 minutes.

We currently live in a world where Illinois and Rutgers are Top 25 teams and we would be ahead of Michigan in the standings if we win today.  What a time to be alive.
