OmahaHusker Posted March 7, 2017 Report Posted March 7, 2017 The Mavs are doin work right now against IUPUI. Up 23 with 5 minutes left. They'll take on SDSU tomorrow night in the championship. Some on this board might disagree, but I'll be rooting for them if they make the tourney. Nebrasketballer 1 Quote
The Polish Rifle Posted March 7, 2017 Report Posted March 7, 2017 Holy hell are they fun to watch. So much athleticism. Gonna be fun to watch tomorrow, and I too will be rooting for them. Dancing in year 2 of D1 basketball would be a absolutely incredible accomplishment. OmahaHusker and Nebrasketballer 2 Quote

Silverbacked1 Posted March 7, 2017 Report Posted March 7, 2017 Got no problem with them if they got no problem with us. Quote
AuroranHusker Posted March 7, 2017 Report Posted March 7, 2017 Reminder: Omaha vs S. Dak. St. 8 pm CST on ESPN2 tonight! Quote
PimpMario Posted March 8, 2017 Report Posted March 8, 2017 UNO has some guys who could contribute for us. The 3 point line is the same distance for the low majors right? Quote

The Polish Rifle Posted March 8, 2017 Report Posted March 8, 2017 Daum is the only reason SDSU won - that and awful shot selection from UNO down the stretch. Last two shots were god awful. OmahaHusker 1 Quote

HuskerFever Posted March 8, 2017 Report Posted March 8, 2017 I for one wouldn't mind seeing UNO make the NCAA tournament every year. It's the kids across the street from them who rub me the wrong way. AuroranHusker, uneblinstu and Silverbacked1 3 Quote
49r Posted March 8, 2017 Report Posted March 8, 2017 I was gutted to see them lose. Really would have been fun to watch them go on to the tourney. PimpMario 1 Quote
royalfan Posted March 8, 2017 Report Posted March 8, 2017 Fun trip, sad finish. What makes them fun also makes them frustrating. Took some really silly shots and didn't get a decent look at the end. AuroranHusker and basketballjones 2 Quote

AuroranHusker Posted April 26, 2017 Report Posted April 26, 2017 Not sure how I feel about this. The Valley without Wichita State isn't nearly as good. Hmmmm. Quote
HuskerFever Posted April 26, 2017 Report Posted April 26, 2017 The Summit League definitely embraces the Great Plains area and is a nice little niche conference. However, if you're looking to play with the bigger boys the Missouri Valley would be a great move. It's all about fit and not moving up too quickly though. UNO's endowment is $72M (6th of 9 in the Summit League) while in their current state they would be 10th of 11 in the Missouri Valley. These are also 'win the tourney or bust' types of leagues most years, so which conference helps attract the right level of talent and gets you to the tournament more often than not?
