Huskerpapa Posted February 15, 2017 Report Posted February 15, 2017 http://www.theonlycolors.com/2017/2/15/14622612/tom-izzo-rips-dan-dakich-video The video is embedded in the attached article. But Izzo blasted Dakich. Perhaps I haven't paid a lot of attention, but this seemed out of character for Coach Izzo. That said, I love that he has the backs of his players and fans. Quote
jimmykc Posted February 15, 2017 Report Posted February 15, 2017 I don't know what to make of this since it is so easy to misconstrue isolated tweets. What may have been intended as tongue in cheek might have come out as mean spirited. All of the Big 10 announcers have been pretty positive about Nebraska including Dakich (My preference is Bardo) so Izzo may rethink this unless there is a longstanding problem there from Dakich's IU days. AuroranHusker Posted February 15, 2017 Report Posted February 15, 2017 Dakich's son is on the Michigan roster. Dan likes to poke fun at MSU because it is much more difficult to get into UM than MSU. He just takes it too far. And Izzo had had enough. Quote
Handy Johnson Posted February 15, 2017 Report Posted February 15, 2017 I forget the game, but Dakich claimed Pinnacle Bank Arena was as good as any basketball facility in the Country. Amenities, atmosphere you name it, and the play-by-play announcer asked, "even Cameron?" Dakich said yes. Quote
jimmykc Posted February 15, 2017 Report Posted February 15, 2017 I'd like to think his comment was meant as a form of rough humor like me saying someone who attended Kansas State went to "Silo Tech".or someone who went to Missouri must have only one tooth and be engaged to a cousin ( wait, I think that is one of their entrance requirements). aphilso1 Posted February 15, 2017 Report Posted February 15, 2017 Did you know the toothbrush was invented in Missouri? You know that's true, because if it was invented anywhere else it'd be called a teethbrush. Red Rum, Mr. Red, Brick and 3 others 6 Quote
49r Posted February 16, 2017 Report Posted February 16, 2017 By the way, Dan Dakich will be calling the Knicks @ Thunder game alongside Stan Van Gundy on ESPN's Crossover Wednesday later tonight. Quote
Norm Peterson Posted February 16, 2017 Report Posted February 16, 2017 All I got to say is anyone who's last name rhymes with a type of fungal infection of the male scrotum ought to go easy on his commentary. Brick 1 Quote

Hey Norm, since we sometimes police semicolons and grammar, this shouldn't be out of bounds---Isn't "male scrotum" redundant? Edited February 17, 2017 by HB Red Don, Norm Peterson and atskooc 3 Quote

jimmykc Posted February 17, 2017 Report Posted February 17, 2017 Norm, It would be more correct to use the scientific name of the disease to which you refer, Tinea Cruris. Incidentally that also happens to be the name of a stripper in Moldavia. aphilso1, Huskerpapa and Silverbacked1 3 Quote
