  1. I don't want to overdramatize the following, but...CJ is going to cause my death.
  2. I doubt it. He played a lot of hard minutes. I am guessing he will be fine.
  3. Cramps in both legs and a back issue.
  4. Yes...I will echo the fact that Fred and company coached a mighty fine game.
  5. One of my favorite moments was when Keisei faked a three pointer and the entire crowd ooohed.
  6. Well, we did hire Connie Yori...
  7. One point of confusion for me...I thought we had a substantial pool of NIL money. This article says otherwise.
  8. Yes. https://www.technicianonline.com/sports/commentary-want-a-top-men-s-basketball-recruit-hire-their-family/article_c478c032-7653-11eb-a4fd-7b6ca4055315.html?utm_medium=social&utm_source=email&utm_campaign=user-share
  9. They actually practice against 5 men.
  10. They should get some practice outside over the next few days.
  11. Man, that second half was brutal. * It appeared that our players assumed the win was banked, and they really didn't have to show up in the 2nd half. * Turnovers...my gawd what an awful display. Lack of focus, carelessness and perception. Film review today would be embarrassing if I was one of the players. * Our players do not react well to physicality. * She gutted it out; but Alexis appeared a bit under the weather. * I applaud MSU for not quitting and clawing their way back. * Their press wasn't that great; but our reaction to it was unbelievably bad. Despite all of the above...we won. An important win at that.
  12. Seriously, my initial reaction is that the basketball gods would NOT let us have anything nice. If he would have come here, one of two things would have occurred. Either his medical condition would have triggered or he would have suffered some other type of injury. So goes the trend of Husker basketball.
  13. I have seen her at a game or two. I doubt that she was there in any official capacity.
  14. I thought I would bring to the fore a few other misunderstood or inconsistant rules: * Player control fouls; * 3 second violation; * Flop calls; and * (and) one foul calls. The first one has been discussed adnausiam. Seems to still be a judgment call in most instances (with some clarity around the basket.) 3 second call should be abolished as it is rarely called. If it is called, then I question the integrity of the referee. Why did she or he call a violation at that moment, and not the twenty other times it occurs in any given game. Flops, basically the same as above. They seem to occur multiple times in any given game; but it is only called at select times and arguably can dramatically affect the game flow and/or outcome. What we are now seeing more often is that a player goes for a lay up and makes it, a foul is not called. But if it missed, then the ref blows a late whistle and assesses a foul. WTH...it is a foul or it isn't. That creates a situation where the refs whistle can control the game. I won't even get into the arm bars, the stiff arms, the extreme body contact (especially with the bigs going at it like rams fighting for the in-heat ewes.) Meanwhile, a ticky-tac touch gets whistled. Point being, the referees have a tough job. BUT, they are the ones who are so inconsistent with their calls that create mistrust and integrity issues. By the way, this is not just NCAA officials, this is officiating across the board.
  15. The 10-second violation in basketball is a rule that the player must cross half court in 10 seconds after their team inbounds the ball. If they do not cross half court in 10 seconds, possession is awarded to the other team. This is a rule for NCAA, WNBA and high school basketball.
  16. We need to find a way to leverage Tominga more frequently offensively and defensively. He goes chunks of time without touching the ball on offense. I have extreme confidence in his shot selection...even 30 feet from the basket. The majority of our shots need to come from DW, Sam, Lawrence and of course, Tominga. Tominga is also sneaky good with his off-ball defense. He gets exposed with his on-ball defense. I guess that may be why we are seeing more zone concepts...but then our rebounding suffers. Man, why can't we just have it all!
  17. Turnovers! That said, we still have players playing outside their skills and ability.
  18. Did a good job other than the turnovers. It just sucks.
  19. Seriously. They can bang on us...we touch them 30 minutes from the hoop and they make a call?
  20. 18 turnovers...sheesh. Then we lose DW in part due to our latest turnover
  21. Another late...questionable bailout call.
