2023 PG Simeon Wilcher -> UNC->St John
Huskerpapa replied to Nebrasketballer's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
I wouldn't be surprised if a certain guard from Rutgers ends up there as well. -
I like the arrow. The arrow speeds up the game a tad, plus half the refs struggle throwing the ball up.
-
Well...okay then.

I believe the lone sharpie is Keisei. I am even struggling with what could be a nine player rotation. You could literally throw up any nine of our scholarship players, and even factor in two of our walk-ons and I wouldn't be shocked at the lists. Here is a tougher question in my mind, if we agree to a nine player rotation. Who is left out of said rotation???

Nice that the head coach is a Husker and Kansas City product.

I like Jeff and have known him since his youth baseball days. But sorta saw this coming.

This is likely unreliable and useless. My point I was trying to establish is that less than 30K people of Mongolian decent lives in the USA. However, our campus and team seems diverse. So maybe that creates a recruiting advantage. Which state has the most Mongolians? Other communities formed by recent Mongolian immigrants include ones in Chicago, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C. The largest Mongolian-American community in the United States is located in Los Angeles, California.

Yeah...let's not forget this kid. I still think he will be our starting point guard before years end...even if Magic Mike comes here. "I had coaches recruiting me for all different things: point guard, shooting guard, combo guard, wing, whatever,” Lloyd Jr. says. “At Nebraska I’m going to play a lot of point guard. Coach Hoiberg loves how I read the floor, my vision and just kinda my flow in terms of the pace so he really wants to be on the ball a lot next year. In my opinion, I’m a combo guard. But the game is going towards positionless basketball, so at the next level, I can be one through four.” https://quickshare.samsungcloud.com/nIGBccF9BtIW -

Just saying... -
Yeah, I'm leaning towards negativity with this move. But what are you going to do? On the one hand, he will be playing with and against really good talent. On the other hand he is missing invaluable team and cultural building. He has done this before and it has been okay. Sooo. It also sounds possible that three others will be limited or completely out.

Here is the full news conference. Some good information:

Somebody needs to define "hosting" to me. How are we hosting an "event" that is not wholly played at our facility? To me, we arranged three home games. The three other schools agreed to play us here, and then agreed to play each other at different venues. ???

This is going to be an interesting season. I guess it will start with the upcoming trip and practices; but I am of the opinion that competition for playing time, let alone starting positions will last into the early games of the season. Now, ask yourselves, and ask your friends and neighbors, is the competition because we do not yet have elite/standout talent that provides separation from their teammates; or is because we have a good players with significant depth; but no real superstars or NBA level talent? I personally believe we do not have elite talent. We have depth, and that depth can do a lot of things that can help us improve. I think that is a good thing...IF we play as a team, play unselfishly, play hard, have good leadership, maintain a strong culture with high character and effort. I do look at the talent coming back and coming in within our league. We can be better and still not make progress with a significant number of additional wins. BUT, we can win a few that we let get away from us last year, and that may earn us a dance card. My rose-colored glasses are not yet back on, but they are close by.
