  1. May this year break new ground for the Husker basketball program. Let your imagination run wild!!!
  2. Something was certainly off last night. He was a half step slow all night. A few of my observations - he started the night with a sleeve on his calf. That sleeve was gone in the second half. - few, if any monster dunks this year, with more reliance on his improved perimeter game. Is his shoulder still an issue? - with how we are playing our bigs this year forcing Juwan away from the rim?
  3. The Southern bus followed me out of town this morning and all the way to the Omaha Airport. Did I mention it was at 3:00 a.m. My daughter said they appeared a bit tired
  4. Hard to complain about a 30+ point win. Came off a tournament championship, a long fight home and before a big game on Saturday against the Bruins. Good job men! By the way, glad to see Griffiths getting a few minutes and knocking down his shots. Maybe a good omen as we enter the new year.
  5. I would hope that they would wait for the students to return. I would also guess that many of the players have gone home for a few days.
  6. I once heard this said of President Carter - he is (was) a great man, unfortunately, he was not a great President.
  7. Eli had injury issues last year, and again this year. It is hard to play well, if you cannot stay on the floor.
  8. Yeah...this will be a very tough test today. Gotta be at our collective best.
  9. Lol...our special teams SUCK!
  10. If only we would tackle a bit better and the botched extra point was ugly...plus two turnovers...man this could be a blow out.
  11. Okay, here is the request. Connor posted the above image. Over his shoulder is a chart (blown up in photo 2. What do the numbers mean? I mean some "seem" obvious; such as number of 3 pointers, deflections, offensive rebounds percentage fast back points, and so forth...but are they obvious?
  12. To me, it certainly isn't hate, it is simply concern. Right now when you have Rollie and Braxton in the game at the same time, neither needs to be covered on the perimeter. As a result teams will sag to the middle and make it difficult to penetrate. If we have a slow start, it certainly seems more pronounced. We sorta had the same issue when Sam G ran the point.
  13. Let's be real, prior to NIL a significant number of big time programs were paying athletes under the table. Even more were being compensated by boosters. Those who were stupid were caught and punished. Today, most of the payments are now above board and (I would think) taxed. The problems today include regulation, contracts, allegiance, booster reliance and failure to engage the core fans. High schools and middle schools are next. I heard talking heads complain, before NIL, that coaches could up and leave and the poor kids who were recruited by that staff were left behind. What they didn't say was that coaches oftentimes had a contract and had to buy out of the contract. Also, now that these players are compensated for their play, you have to start talking about the peripheral compensation package such as workers compensation, disability payments, long term health benefits, spousal/family health benefits and so forth. Also, is it discrimination to limit a players eligibility to 4 years? Why not six or 8 years? Goodness, we honestly are just seeing the tip of the iceberg.
  14. JaMarcus had a good upside. I looked at his statistics from this season and it appears he has been inconsistent. That inconsistancy plagued him with us as well. I also noted a few high turnover games. It is difficult to overcome a six turnover game; but they did. Bottom line, he chose (or perhaps it was a mutual decision) to leave Nebraska for greener pastures. We needed to move on as well. I will cheer for our current roster, by and through, my biased eyes.
  15. I recall having a debate with Glen Potter in one of my classes about statistics and how they can either be misleading and/or they do not provide the full story. One example is there is no stat line on 'finding your man on a shot and putting your body on him,' or in short, boxing out. A second example is the pass that leads to the pass that results in an assist. There are numerous examples involving tips, picks, turnovers and so forth. The point is that just because Meah doesn't grab the rebound, doesn't necessarily mean he isn't doing his job on the boards. It may mean he is creating the opportunity for one of his teammates
  16. Another theory on Braxton, he is 7'2" and seems to get fouls called on him that aren't called on others. So he is not as aggressive as Andrew or Berke. Braxton can also be a tad dramatic at times, which likely pisses off the refs.
  17. Holy smokes, Southern stomped Ecclesia 131-42 as well as Champion Chris 121-58. Never heard of either school...lol.
