Had an opportunity to meet a number of the players today...I noted that Keisei appears to be a legit 6'2".

A random thought or two: * you can be supremely athletic and yet be a miserable basketball player; * you can be as strong as an ox, and not be good at basketball; * you can be as quick as a cat, but fail on the court; * you can hit 95 out of a 100 free throws in practice, but fail in games; * you can be great in 3 point shooting drills, mut miss 75% in games; * and on and on and on. The point being is that finding the right players, finding the right fit, goes beyond seeing talent; it also includes the mental toughness and the application of talent in practice and games. We can certainly debate the.level of talent this team has. In my humble opinion they have the talent to compete in arguably the best conference in the country. I do question their mental toughness though. We lost one player who likely was the most mentally tough person on the court. The remainder of the team could likely overcome that physical loss, but they have not recovered that mental edge. We get pressed, how do we react? We have a turnover, how do we react? We miss an assignment, how do we react? A player gets knocked on her butt, how does the individual and team react? I still think we are an above average team with a good coach. A few things must be fixed; but a major overhaul is not necessary.

Gotta haves, portal or otherwise

Hey, we are Nebraska Husker basketball fans; heretofore, hope is all we have had...hope and a prayer I guess. -
Hard to play "what if" with this year's squad. What if Bando and Jawan don't get hurt? What if Wilhelm had good knees? What if DW was good from the start? What if Sam G was 100% each game? What if Blaise was 100% all year? Then you look at a few of the benefactors from above; Dawson, Lawrence, Keisei and Sam Hoiberg. Rather than what if, I say holy sh*t, what a strange but somewhat stimulating ride this has been.

I noticed that others were making it a big deal that Rutgers is struggling since the lost a starter to injury. HELLO... -

It has been awhile, but Keisei is kind of (that guy) that opposing teams are going to hate on. I love it. Now if we could just find him six years of eligibility. -

Rutgers is in meltdown mode over on their fan forum. I liked the one honest dude who said Nebraska came in and bit*h slapped us. Another asked why Rutgers can't recruit scorers like Keisei. I kid you not...fun to read. -

Is it just me or is Fred or perhaps one or more of the assistants, doing a much better job with player management (correct player with correct minutes). Maybe it is just a mirage given our injuries. But it just seems that the right buttons are now being pushed. -

True, but the move Trev made with his contract at the end of last year made his seat hot. -

Fun game to watch. We played like a veteran team, weathering all of Rutgers little runs. We out played them, basically from beginning to end. Every one of our players who saw the floor played well. No negative vibes whatsoever. Sam g had a well earned double-double. -
