  1. I thought it was Donnie Boyce...
  2. Listen to this man. Years of being worn down and disappointed have left most of you with a Charlie Brown complex. We're playing with a stacked deck. Not only should we embrace the hype, but cuddle with it, snuggle it. it's OK to admit our team is GOOD.
  3. I rather hope they remind us more of the Selmon Brothers! How 'bout Scooter and Rodney McCrae? 1980 Louisville Title team
  4. Once we win the B1G, I have to believe the Tar Heels will be on their way to town. See ya Wake Forest & FSU...
  5. This is certainly a glaring oversight and most worthy of some type of inquiry, but what really surprises me is how many players in the top 20 I have never, EVER heard of...
  6. Creighton just went from "WE REALLY WANT THIS GUY" to "This guy is awful." I guess it's hard to convince someone to go to Creighton when they're NOT your son. Welcome to being an after thought in the Big East Bluebirds.
  7. My Old Lady spent 10 years behind the bar at O'rourke's, would be nice to find a Hoop centric hang out though once the season starts.
  8. Tai is the easy answer because we all WANT Tai to be better. I think the Big Pitch starts playing with his back to the basket more, and makes people guard him on the block. This is wishful thinking too, but I believe more likely and realistic.
  9. Finally somebody said it, imagine what this line-up would look like with a proven Senior PG who could REALLY shoot it.
  10. Yes, Hammond needs to step up, but I think Smith starting AND scoring from the point is far more significant.
  11. I've spent the past few weeks in Lincoln, and the buzz surrounding Husker hoops in AUGUST is unheard of. First we get the verbal from Arop, and now THIS! Players transferring from Georgetown and Kansas to play in Lincoln, somebody better pinch me.
  12. Have to respectfully disagree, Handy. If he stays injury free and has a great year, he is gone. He will get first round guaranteed money, and for a guy who will already have had 4 years of college, that is a no-brainer to take. I know, I know........... but imagine a line-up with Pitchford, Shields, WHITE, and Petteway. Fairly boggles the mind
  13. Nothing more than a gut feeling( or wishful thinking ) on my part, but I think he thinks he sticks around Lincoln 2 more years. I think he understands what he is a part of now and wants to see just how far the ride will go. The NBA will always be there, and imagine his draft stock if he's a 1st team All-American after his Senior year.
  14. Here's a few guys that could come off the bench: Jorge B. Diaz Nate Johnson Curtis Moore Greg Downing Jerry Shoecraft & of course..... Handy Johnson
  15. Maybe I have a soft spot for Carl Hayse cuz I drank Mad Dog with him one night in the Hum's parking lot...
  16. This is easy: Lue - $5 Smith - $4 Boone - $4 Chandler - $2 & Carl Hayse - $0
  17. Why does no one ever give Carl Hayse any love? Was 6'9", could shoot the 3, had some handle & one of the coolest nicknames ever 'Sco. As in "Give me the damn ball so I can 'Sco over this fool!"
  18. I thought he "posted up" in the Sculpture Garden...
  19. The game in Stillwater towards the end of the season comes particularly to mind. Florence was a one man team, and yes I love me some Cookie, but like you said he was out most of the year... That's because Danny ran all the offense through Larry. Lot of iso stuff, getting Larry the ball on the left wing and clearing things out for him to go mano a mano. And that was an OK strategy in Stillwater because Eddie Sutton was strictly a man coach and Larry, when he was really on, could generally get some buckets. But if he wasn't on, or we were facing more zone, Nee's strategy didn't work as well. Not going to say anything bad about Larry, but he wasn't the only good player on that team. Point taken, and you'll also recall he had several metal/titanium rods in his right leg...

  21. He was the only good player on Nee's last squad. Hang in there Larry...
  22. I'll take 3 Magic Johnsons and still whip everybody's a**!
  23. Considering the pre-game show for an 11:00 am Football game starts at 7:00, the lack of coverage for the Hoops squad is beyond shameful...
  24. The Rockford Files is always on...
  25. Somewhat related: when will Hammonds & Smith be on campus? I would assume they can participate in some kind of unsupervised workouts or "Captain's practice" if you will. Summer League in Omaha? Just curious, glad to see Tai has bought in.
