  1. What about when Chauncey Billups led the Mighty Buffs to a victory over Indiana and General Knight in the NCAAs? And to your second point, it looks like I'll be taking my FIRST Hawaiian vacation. I'd try to spell Mele'kalikimaka but I can't.
  2. Betting line has Indiana by 4
  3. So much for that Big East title Bluebird fans, looks like your "Dream Season" is heading down the crapper. Has anyone checked on Tom Shatel in the last 24 hours?
  4. Who can forget when Bill Jackman was going to be the next Larry Bird...
  5. Also recall the 10 - 6 season with Hamilton was coming off are last NCAA berth, not a season when we were picked to finish dead last for the 3rd year in a row. Let that sink in, and savor it...
  6. Q: What's the difference between a catfish & a woman from Wisconsin? A: One of them has whiskers & smells like a fish, & one of them IS a fish.
  7. Can't see Gophers winning @ Michigan Sat., but as someone pointed out earlier, this s**t is about to get REAL.
  8. Unfortunate, but they could've been worse. I get the 100 year bit...
  9. What's sad is he Redshirted late so he could have a big year THIS year, and it ain't happenin'.
  10. Please, please be the One's they wore @ the B1G Tourney 2 years ago. NOT the blasphemous Converse mid-90's with the matching Zig-zags on the shoes and the uniforms.
  11. Lunardi @ ESPN says we need to win 3/4, doesn't matter how we get 'em, regular season or tourney. Obviously, Badger win carries more weight, plus we haven't beaten them yet in Conference. Ol' Mo would be wearin' a Husker jersey heading to Indy!
  12. This one disappointing because it was SO winnable, even after a lousy 1st half. Their big boy went to the bench in foul trouble & we kept settling for jumpers. Also Ray, Pitch, Tai - 5 points...
  13. Not to go on a tired old rant, but nothing is more insufferable than Creighton fans. They believe they are on a parallel footing with Notre Dame because of the their Jesuit ties, and an elite basketball program because they had success in a League that is marginal at best. Most people in even nearby states, don't know where Creighton is. The truth hurts...
  14. Hopefully Badger game in Lincoln will be for a 4th place finish & a 1st round by. Ryan has never finished lower than 4th in his 13 years in Madison. Would LOVE to change that, and run our home record to 15 - 1
  15. During the IU/Badger game last night, the ESPN bobos thought he was the Favorite for B1G POTY.
  16. Nunn killed the Gophers last week, we need to get up in his jersey, no space, no mercy...
  17. Just think how good we could be if Tai or Rey ever scored...
  18. Gophers also had 11 TO in the 2nd half & looked like someone kicked their puppy. The answer to your question I'm guessing is : Moe Iba
  19. I'm banking on a 4-2 finish at LEAST. Somethin' tells me we'll drop one of the road games, and MAYBE Bucky. Top 5 and best Conference record since '99? Let's play!!!
  20. The power of the "W" is a hell of a lot more powerful than any "N." What you say is true, but here's my point. People in Scottsbluff and Fairbury don't care if Creighton is having a good season. They WOULD care if Nebraska contended for a B1G Title year in and year out. People are invested in the "N", even if they never went to school in Lincoln. You can't say that about Creighton, Doane, or UNO.
  21. He's right about the mystical power of the "N". The Baseball team once played on a glorified Legion field & absolutlely NObody went to those games. Start winning and we all know the rest of the story... The power of the "N" is real, people WILL come out of the woodwork and that's what frightens everyone else in the Big 10.
  22. I understand what you're saying, but I have to say that, in some ways, this team reminds me of the '91 Huskers. Picked to finish last but they have the tools to go out and beat people. The '91 team: Was picked to finish last in the league. Relied on a number of players who had redshirted the previous season. Beat Michigan State. Had a diminutive PG coming off the bench who gave them a spark. They had players who could beat their opponent's players one-on-one. And they had solid role-players surrounding them. This team isn't going to get a #3 seed. It isn't going to produce a 26-8 record. But this team can beat people. We are flat out better than Penn State, Northwestern and Purdue. We can go toe-to-toe with Illinois and Indiana on the road and maybe sneak another road win. I'm calling it right now: I think we will make the dance and I think we'll win a game when we get there. The monkey comes off the back in 2014. You read it here first. Can you imagine Rich King & Clifford Scales on this years club? Senior point guard and a 7'2" Center? I think you're right though Norm, this is the year the Monkey goes away...
