  1. I wouldn’t take too much away from the actual scrimmage...Miles mentioned they had a hard practice earlier, plus the pre-scrimmage scrimmage, so fatigue and just the factors of a really long day were at play. Burke can flat out play. Nice quickness. Donovan Williams looks like he’s 28.
  2. Nyawatawawawawa voted us 36th
  3. Mine arrived today, which was a very nice lift to a rather blah Monday
  4. I seriously thought Corey Simms could’ve been a TE or OLB for our football team. Guy was like 6’5” and 215ish. Akol looks like he has a 36+ inch vertical and has much more bounce and spring to his game. For the record, Id take a Corey Simms too...
  5. This is the kind of kid that in previous years, goes to SDSU or Creighton and blows up (Daum, K.Thomas, J. Patton) and Miles gets blasted for not being able to get them. I’d rather Miles take a gamble on an in-State kid than land another Nate Hawkins/Tarin Smith/Bakari type of gamble. His HUDL looks impressively athletic to me. If he is like another Ade, good lord we got a good one.
  6. As a guy who works with numerous CU alums who have no problems trolling me year round in both football and basketball, I can’t wait for tomorrow. I had previously scheduled a vacation day tomorrow, but just suddenly remembered I forgot something at the office, and will most certainly be stopping in to “discuss” this with all of the Bluejay alums...
  7. It’s too bad it starts at 5, us Omaha fans who work traditional office jobs will make it down there in time for the autographs...
  8. He’s got a really nice looking jump shot- and range. And he still has two more years to develop
  9. I’m thinking he is flying a bit under the radar, though he had a big July. Maybe our version of a Kyhri Thomas
  10. The Real Mike Peltz would be honored....?
  11. So, Brady isn’t redshirtin’. Just sayin’
  12. I liked Barry, he was always very professional and was initially brought in to clean up the mess academically that it was in, and Collier had an almost near perfect graduation rate with his seniors while at NU. I know multiple sources said Byrne liked Collier because of his values, and told Barry to recruit the state as a top priority the first year or two. Losing Spinelli that spring was going to be a blow. He landed the better recruits, including Joe McCray and Jamel White. I also thought Corey Simms, Charles Richardson, Nate Johnson, Aleks Maric, and Marcus Perry were fun to watch. The team that waxed Kansas in Lincoln was a fun team, Conklin, Drevo, and Nate Johnson all had nice seasons. Barry was the last coach to beat Creighton in Omaha, I believe. (NIT) I think Barry did an ok job but wasn’t going to get is to where we all want to be...on an interesting note, I looked at an old LJS article about BC resigning to go to butler, they named the top two candidates as Jim Christian and Mark Fox.
  13. Nationally, not too many give Lue much credit because he’s coaching Lebron, so it should be “easy” to get to the finals. Funny how Phil Jackson was the “zen master” and he coached MJ, Kobe, and Shaq...
  14. So...where was the ominous roster news from back in March? If we get through this offseason only losing Jack, I’d say we made it through the summer just fine!
  15. Schwiiiiing!!!
  16. I’m very excited about this hire. Appears to be an excellent addition!
  17. Miles said Burke is comfortable on the perimeter with ball in hand or working off screens to slash to the basket or set up jumpers. He was a candidate for his league’s defensive player of the year award, too, after leading the NEC in steals at 2.1 a game. “He needs to shoot the 3 better,” Miles said. “But he’s really quick and rebounds like crazy. He is very, very quick to the ball and smart. So, he has D1 experience and won’t have the freshman jitters, has high energy, rebounds like crazy, and led his conference in steals per game. I’ll take it!
  18. Wow, excellent get all things considered. Put a pep in my step!
  19. So Palmer was there too! When coach Miles posted his pic last night, he just st said “one more dinner with the boys” so I figured it was just a gathering....makes more sense it was an end of year type deal. Miles was quoted saying that if Copeland or Palmer got feedback they would be drafted AND were part of a team’s long term plans, they’d consider it. But if not, they both want to come back and make Nebraska a winner next year. Go crazy folks!!!!
  20. Just read in the OWH that Roby is 100% back next year, as he didn’t file the necessary paperwork for the draft. So, 1/3 so far!!!!!
  21. Was gonna post this. Upon further inspection, I see Roby, Nana, and Cope for sure, possibly Palmer too. Love it.
  22. Read in the OWH today that Miles said he is still waiting to hear details from Moos on his extension. Wow, figured details were discussed and they were just sharpening pencils on a few things. Sounds like Miles is in the dark too. Just like sales guys when they know their comp plan is gonna change, but the company doesn’t roll it out until 1 day before the change date ?
  23. If he goes to Creighton I will physically vomit and then punch a Blujay alum coworker, in that order
  24. What’s David Anwar up to? ?
  25. The attitude of blaming the patrons and painting Barry’s as the victims here doesn’t lend to much sympathy from me. They are making a crap load of money from selling drinks in a college town, they should take some responsibility for that.
