  1. Chemistry always improves with wins and worsens with losses.

  2. Interesting to read that Tim and Greg McDermott spoke on Monday to bounce ideas off each other and give each other tips on how to make each other's teams better. Greg said they have done that every time and that it was nothing new. Miles told Greg he isn't his Daddy until CU beats NU 13 times in a row....really hope that doesn't happen.

    Sadie Edwards Transferring

When I grew up freshmen were not eligible to play. However, once the doors were opened, they can never be closed. Kind of like creating a government agency. They never get un-created.

  5. I gotta say, I've really enjoyed Moses and his contribution. He's a hard worker and appears to be very coachable, and you can tell that he continues improve each game. I agree on the Tarin and Benny front. Better perimeter D, and both of them are decent three point threats. It would be nice to have one more serviceable 2-3, but we don't have that luxury. It's probably going to have to be Fuller. Tai has been killing us. If I had my way, I'd have Walt only at the stretch 4 rotating with Rivers. I'd rather see Hammond give Moses a breather. At least then no one is playing out of position.

  6. Where'd you read that, Peltzy? Today's OWH. Here it is: McDermott said he and Nebraska Coach Tim Miles talked on Monday. "We bounced some things off each other about things we can do to make our teams better." McDermott said. "We've done that every year, so it's not atypical." The two men are good friends, and McDermott said he didn't try to needle Miles about improving to 11-0 in their coaching matchups. "He told me I'm not his daddy until we win 13 in a row," McDermott said, laughing. "It's all in good fun." Perhaps Tim is giving Greg too many good ideas and Greg is giving Tim some bad ones? Just kidding. Perhaps. Coach Miles must have shared some good stuff with Craig Smith, like shoot real good.

  8. This is certainly disappointing, but reading the tea leaves, you'd have to say you're more disappointed with her folks. She's a true freshman in college on a top 15 basketball team. She cannot seriously be unhappy with her amount of playing time, can she? So, it's the professors in her speech class? You have to say odds are pretty good there was a parent telling her she's too good to sit on the bench or whatever. "My daughter's better than that other girl; she should be starting instead!!!" Sometimes, talented players aren't worth the headache their parents bring with them.

  9. Maybe freshman year should be a mandatory red shirt year for everyone in all sports. Gives you time to adjust to school, being away from mom and dad, and time to understand what it takes to play at the college level and then make a decision that you want to continue. It would never work, I'm just daydreaming.

  12. DM Register Prep of the week http://www.desmoinesregister.com/story/news/local/community/2014/12/09/michael-jacobson-waukee-boys-basketball/20154523/ Relevant Q&A from the article You’ve accepted a scholarship offer to play at Nebraska. What did you like about the school? I really liked the coaching staff first and foremost. Coach Miles is a great guy and the whole staff seems to be really excited about the direction the program is heading. I also really liked the new facilities, and the opportunity to play in the Big Ten was special as well. What other schools did you consider? I considered UNI, Drake, Harvard and Princeton. What position do you expect to play at the next level? I expect to play the 3 or the 4.

  13. The harsh reality about this team is that we aren't good enough to win a lot of games unless we bring proper preparation and execution to the table. The hype coming into this year is often motivation enough for our opponents. What's our excuse? That's how you lose to Rhode Island team that really didn't want to close us out. That's how you lose to an average Creighton team at home. That's how you sleepwalk to start a game against UNO. It's highly disappointing that this team hasn't seemed to pick up where we left off last year. This season is far from over and Miles' squads here have been much improved to end the year. Yesterday's presser was a message from Tim that he's ready to switch up the lineup and rotations. Lets hope he finds the right equation sooner than later because Incarnate Word won't back down and there aren't any gimmies left on the schedule.

  14. This is not true. I went to the Mich game and OSU game last year and the crowd was solid. And we were 0-4 in Big 10 play heading into the battle vs the Buckeyes.

  17. Last year everything was brand new and magical. Hope some of that shine isn't already coming off....I don't think it is...but I've noticed a little staleness from the crowd at times.

  18. Is our defensive identity dictating our offense? With the exception of Moses, we have a roster built to run. Are we not running more because we believe that at the end of the day our best option is to run our set offense or because we don't want to potentially hurt our defense?

  19. Let's be honest. We're still in our non-conference schedule. Our 'fans' never really did show up to support the team until we started winning some games in conference play. I'd imagine it will be similar this year too. It takes time.
