The Skinny
This might be the best Iowa team since 2006 when the Hawkeyes went 25-9 while winning the Big 10 tournament and securing a 3 seed. They were upset in the first round by Northwestern St.)
Fran McCaffery's fast paced offense finally has the players necessary to not only put up points but also put in effort on the defensive end. The Hawkeyes have 4 players with double digit scoring and attack the basket all game. Iowa get the majority of their points in the paint and regularly frequents the FT line.
This is McCaffery's 4th year at Iowa. Two years ago they ago they went 18-17 including being thumped by Creighton. There are a lot of parallels you can make between the two programs and their current trajectories. The only problem tonight is that the Huskers are two years behind Iowa. Tonight you'll feel like Nebraska might have their offense a little figured out and probably think our defense has bottomed out. That's what today's Iowa team will do to you.
Prediction: Iowa 93 - Nebraska 74
