Great great win against a very good Top 25 team. This win will definitely help the RPI.

Out shot them with 50% shooting, hard rebounding, defense, defense, defense, less turnovers...the lady Huskers did all the things needed to win.

Loved the use of the bench...great jobs by all of them. Jazz was also super...her best game overall?  Thought Burns was more than just fouled in the tussle for the ball. Tough girl....Burns was today. She's back !

Thought Allie got hosed a couple of times with foul calls. Jess got fouled a lot ....with many no calls from refs.

At home we're simply a different team. We feed off the crowd....our youth group maybe hasn't learned the mindset necessary to play away. Next year will be different.

Nat and Jess...wow !!

Where's this pink shoe team been ????

WOW! What a game! hats off to jasmine cincore! really did a nice job on Powers. clark, too! gonna be some sore huskers come monday morning, but, won't feel as bad now.  ;) holy cow, hines is a beast of a woman----sparty probably coulda used her at linebacker or, maybe dt earlier this fall.  ;) and, my gosh, rachel blackburn. she made a couple of huge plays there late in the game! had to chuckle a bit when she got tangled up with hines-----she kinda threw burns down like a rag doll!  :o and that can't be easy!

what else can one say about nat and jess. geez. i'm amazed how nat gets those shots up around the basket. that one drive she had in the second half when she was alone with either hines or allen, can't remember, i started thinking right away "pull it out!" but she got the shot off even though she missed it. i thought she was gonna be force fed a basketball.

and love to see those crowds---the wifi cut out when matt was giving the attendance, so, will have to check that out. just a great team win! Happy Valentines Day everyone!!!

oh, and speaking of Powers-----how she didn't get "T'd up" is amazing to me. refs should have never let that go---and you can't show off to the crowd like that. love her game, but, she has lost a lot of my respect. i've noticed in other games she can really act up if things don't go her way. getting to be a bit of a bad habit with her.

Great game. Inconsistently officiated.   Romeo was excellent in all phases of the game.   Shepherd was a force in there.  Jazz got us going early.  Good play off the bench.  Team was dialed in.

I couldn't believe how big of a cry baby Powers was. That was awful. She was talking some mad crap that last quarter.

I am not sure Hines is a "Thug". She just has a big body and its hard to control it against some of the smaller girls. I thought she played a fair game.

She went to see if Burns was okay after their tye up, so to me that shows that I think you are right and that she is just a big Strong girl.

Hines is built like a shot putter.  I watched on TV yesterday and didn't have a negative impression of her, just thought she was a strong girl, maybe a tad frustrated toward the end but nothing like Powers.  Dang, Powers should have just been benched.  I know at one time the coach pulled her out when she was starting to lose it, but then she came right back in and had a meltdown.  Can't wait to watch Cinco guard her again next year.  Or maybe in the Big10 tourney this year!

Did anyone see Powers when she shoulder bumped Burns as she was walking off the court?  Burns really gave her a look - good for her!

"Hines is built like a shot putter." great analogy huskerchode. nailed that one. saw a number of pics from the game that have been posted. my gosh hines has powerful legs---not to mention upper body strength, too.

what was it, 10 turnovers? only a couple really bad ones that i can remember. the lob into the back court that gave green a layup, and, allies toss. that was a head scratcher. they showed a replay of it and the camera angle was right behind allie. my goodness, what was she seeing? powers was right there. allie almost did it earlier in the game, too. allie has had a very good season, but, it is something that still haunts her every now and then. she will make a pass that can make your head spin.

so great to see burns back. huskers really need her down the stretch. had a very nice move around the basket. drew the foul.

Cinco really in Powers' head!!!

My game balls go to Cincore for the defense she puit on Powers & to Burns for just being Burns and for not backing down from the thug Hines.

I was going to post the same thing about Cincore - great game getting in Powers' head.  Powers is a great player and has hurt Nebraska in past games.  She absolutely should have been T'd up after she committed 3 molestations on one play in the span of about 2 seconds late in the game and they finally called a foul and she still got up pitching a fit.  Her bitching, whining, crying and 'woe-is-me' face went on the entire 2nd half.  Refs should have taken control of that BS.

Great game by Cincore and the Lady Huskers!  I didn't think they had it in them.

Some one mentioned MSU was frustrated. It was apparent several times.

Powers obviously, but the rest of their team did show it several times. Hines made a big frown when she was stopped by Jess and Allie.

Remember, Jess driving to the basket and scoring over MSU's other big girl, and she just sort of threw her hands in the air...like saying.."there's no way to stop her." (Jess)

They could never get close to us...every time they got within about 5 pts...we sank a 3 or what ever and go back up to 10 ahead.  We did it several times.  They aren't used to that.

for sure. during court action, Powers was asking for the ball (while in front/near msu bench) twice she tried to get it and really got upset and started talking to the coach while play was going on! i'm sure it was along the lines, "they won't throw me the *&^$#@*&$^@ ball!!!"

some of the looks on hines, and especially allen's face after jess scored on them were priceless! it was like, "what the heck just happened?!?"

The job Jasmine did on Powers should earn her lots more minutes going forward. As a matter of fact both Jasmine and Natalie had fantastic games on the defensive ends. Natalie completely shut down Jankoski had that last second three pointer not went in she would have been held scoreless the first time in a long long while.

Jasmine was also splendid on the offensive end letting the game come to her and not putting her head down driving to the bucket and forcing up a shot among 2 - 3 defenders.

I thought the MSU freshman Jenna Allen looked good also, as it's looks as if she will be someone to reckon with going forward.

Good moral builder after that debacle in the twin cities.

agree. i got to thinking while watching cincore on sunday. she has really come a long ways---just this season. i remember watching her earlier this season and started to wonder if they were really going to get much out of her. really forced things and just looked so out of control. she showed flashes, but, for the most part i wondered if she would really give them good minutes off the bench.

both michigan schools have potentially really good posts---allen with msu, and, thome with michigan.

nat's 3pt stats (national):   13th in 3pt fg attempts @ 200

                                            3rd (tied) 3pt fg made @  86

                                            3rd (tied) made 3pt'ers/game  3.44

                                           16th 3pt field goal percentage 43%

O M'Gosh, after reading the comments I'm going to have to go back and re-watch the game (with BTN's announcers  ;) ).  Matt & Jeff were great on the radio yesterday!

I have nothing against Jasmine Hines, she's just a big, strong girl; And a good player.  When I think 'thug' I think Rutgers and 'Street Ball.'

Cincore was great; and definitely in Power's head!

Come to think of it, you don't want to 'bump' Burns either.  It just lets Burns know she's gotten to you and she'll redouble her efforts.

Yes,  Jazz has finally begun to understand how to play at this level, and with this team. She simply hasn't been ready before. Many times just going too fast and a bit out of control. She couldn't have done in the first half of the season, what she did yesterday. You could see her finally begin to "get it" in the last 6 or 7 games.

She's no longer running wild up and down the court, creating turnovers. She used to throw up wild shots...now she's waiting to get the good shot, and is in much better control when she does shoot, and now is much stronger in her role as defender.

It's simply taken a year and a 1/2 to progress to this point. Nothing unusual....it happens to most new players. Just glad she's stuck it out, and stayed with the team. She's had skills all along.....just better focused in knowing how to use them now. She now deserves more floor time. It will be hard to keep her off the floor next year.

Also Allie has improved, Nat has improved, Anya has improved... all have improved since last season.

This season Maddie has improved, and Burns has improved. You can even see Jess has improved too.

We're now a better team than when we lost to Iowa early in the B1G season.
