First the football coach, now the AD.  I gotta think Groce is going to be feeling the heat this year with lackluster performance since his first year, new administration and a massive arena renovation project scheduled to be wrapping up next summer.

On the flipside, he's Illinois coach of the year if you only count football and Mens/Womens basketball

If Groce wasn't feeling the heat... he will be now...

North Florida 91

Illinois 78

30 ticks left

About 75% of the tweets replying to the Illinois basketball twitter account announcing the final score were along the lines of "Fire Groce".

That's just Groce.

Illinois has been battling injuries (Abrams, Nunn) and are playing their "home" games in Springfield while renovations at Assembly Hall finish up.  And the teams they've lost to so far aren't horrible.  Kenpom has North Florida at #111, Providence #60 and Chattanooga is #101.

Still, 1-3 is bad.  Illini fans want Groce gone.

...this latest blow gives the Illini their second season-ending injury of the year, as Thorne would join point guard Tracy Abrams as out for the year. Abrams tore his Achilles tendon in the preseason.

Thorne was playing well after transferring in from Charlotte this offseason. He averaged 13.4 points and 8.4 rebounds in the team's first seven games, recording a pair of double-doubles in losses to North Florida and Chattanooga. He was on his way to another Saturday against Iowa State, scoring 10 points and grabbing seven rebounds in just 13 minutes, but he left after suffering an injury.

Thorne is Illinois' tallest player at 6-foot-11, and he was playing well as the team's starting center, starting in the front court alongside Black. If Thorne is done for the season — or any significant length of time — it will be up to forwards Maverick Morgan and Michael Finke to take over those minutes.

You may have heard Ochoa's work before. The computer science major from Harvey debuted at campus sporting events in the fall, when he was prodded by good friend and Illini football player V'Angelo Bentley to serve as Memorial Stadium's in-house DJ on game days. Ochoa — who typically plays a couple nights a week in area venues such as The Highdive, Canopy Club and Soma — wasn't especially comfortable in his new environment at first.

LA Ron Black arrested for pulling a knife on a bouncer.

Hmm, I wonder how long it took him to realize that a move like that IS BAD/STUPID/CRIMINAL/INSANE!
I guessing not very long.
