I've seen a lot of gnashing of teeth over our 1-2 record.  Hey, it's unusual territory for us.  I get that people find it disconcerting to be staring at a slate of tough games ahead and already being under .500.  So, not a lot of room for error the rest of the way.  I get that.

And, Bo Pelini never lost more than 4 games in a season and never fewer than 9 wins?  Is that correct?

I wonder if he would have been able to sustain that record this year.

For this poll, I took the 3 most recent non-conference losses.  Two of these were in Coach Mike Riley's first year; the other was in Bo Pelini's 6th year.

Which one of those three was worse than the others?

we have the 3rd most penalties in the country and are dead last in pass defense.

The Riley era is not looking good.

Certainly many areas of concern. Some of it justified as a new coaching staff, new system, etc. (not all of it, but some of it). But I'm sure people wouldn't be as panicked if a couple plays went our way and we were 3-0 right now. There's many more games ahead of us - whether that's good or bad, we'll find out.

We absolutely blew and I mean BLEW that UCLA game.

We blew the BYU game as well, poor poor defense at the end of the game.  We shouldn't have been in that position though.

We played terrible for 3Qs at Miami and made one heck of a comeback.

All of these loses make me mad.  They all sucked.  UCLA sucked the worst because we BLEW that game.  Choked.

I'll vote for the game in Lawrence in 2007 when KU had 48 points in the first half and took the foot off the pedal in the second half to only end up with 76. For some reason I have totally blocked out that UCLA game. At least the ones this year have been exciting.

That was a doozy. KU tried & missed a FG that would have made it 79! At least KU ended up 12-1, their last hope of a team resembling a competent Div. 1 football program.

Which was worse... the KU loss or the 70-31 loss to Wisconsin in 2012?

Losing a Big 10 championship like that... definitely takes the cake.

The 2012 game at Ohio State was also a beat-down, 63-38. The Buckeyes scored 7 straight TDs in successive possessions. ((gulp))

Yikes.... we no look to good....

The last time we were 2-2 was in 1981.

Yes we are a couple plays from 4-0, but also a couple plays from 1-3 as well

The last time NU was 1-3 was back in 1957. Glad the Huskers held off the Golden Eagles just long enough for the clock to hit 0:00. It's going to be a roller-coaster ride in the Big Ten West.

The good news is I think we will be favored to win in six of our last eight games.  The bad news is I think my grandma could throw for 300 on us right now.

If we played today we would not be favored to beat Wiscy, MSU, or Iowa (Beathard would carve us up right now).  Minny would probably be a toss up.

Incorrect..today we would be about a FG favs over Minnesota and Iowa.  Wiscy and MSU I agree on, we will not be favored in those games.  NW may be a toss up in Vegas...but we will probably get the benefit of the doubt thanks to homefield advantage.

The below LINK is usually a pretty good indicator on how the lines will play out...obviously that could change.  But right now I think we would be favored in six of our remaining games.

Well, if we don't improve considerably, it won't matter anyway, as we will not win 6 of those 8, or anything close to it.  Although your spreads would be a fine money making opportunity.
