does seem a little premature to publish this article before the season is technically over.

I don't believe we'll win the big10 tournament but crazier things have happened.

We did almost beat maryland just 3 days ago who is the 2nd best team in the conference

I thought the article was well done.  I too questioned the timing a bit, but it is hard to argue with the majority of the observations..  I had forgotten about Deng.  I wonder if he would have helped?

As far as next year???  Expectation is a difficult word to define, but I guarentee you, I will have a high level of anticipation.  Expectations will be defined by who stays, who goes, who joins the team and which players further or refine their games.

Is there anything Rosenthal missed here? It seems like a technically premature end of the season overview of what happened.

Not sure I agree with Brian on the expectations being tempered next year.

Two years ago we had a bunch of questions marks and no one expected us to do anything.

This year we had a bunch of knows, so there were expectations.

It would seem that a lot of how next year goes hinges on new comers who will once again be question marks.

Right or wrong, I don't see how we're picked to finish above 10th place when next year's media poll comes out and that will certainly influence fan expectations. I would agree that the team's expectations and goals will be loftier.

"2014-15 Postmortum"

Postmortum?

You're absolutely right. I became the person who put in a title that changed the entire flow of the thread. Hopefully I have adjusted properly.

Yeah, but without it, I wouldn't have been able to squeeze in a Monte Python reference.

I would hope (and expect) we are ranked in the lower half of the B1G; maybe even the lower quartile, for two reasons:  1) I would much rather over-perform to under-expectations than under-perform to over-expectations;  &  2)  The lower the ranking the more the incentive to prove critics wrong!  :P

( I believe there is just too much new (and returning) talent that appeared in the conference this season (think Trimble, Russell, Edwards, etc) for us to be ranked much higher, regardless of who we might add to the team.)

Oh, what sad times are these when passing ruffians can say Danny Nee at will to old ladies.

There is a pestilence upon this land, nothing is sacred.

Now if someone would post the killer rabbit scene and the Black Knight scene we would be set!

This appropriately depicts how the first half of the last Penn St game went

10th would be fine, IMHO. Underdog mentality seems to suit us better at this stage of program development.

We'll be picked MUCH higher than 10th, that assumes of course TP is back, and we get the Center we so richly deserve...

I'm not sure about that. Even if TP stays. The fact is just about every team in this conference brings in talent every year. We are not the only program with a solid recruiting class. And quite frankly..we were terrible this year. We will have to prove ourselves again to make believers out of the media. The good news is that preseason predictions don't mean squat.
