Timmy Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 Dirk Chatelain has a right up about Tyron Criswell in the OWH this morning. Kid has turned himself into a nice player. At the end of the article, Dirk mentions that Tim Miles has recently been in touch. Possible back up plan? Right now, all interest is from mid-majors. I have not seen him play, so can't comment on his game. Sounds like a tremendous worker though. http://www.omaha.com/article/20140419/SPORTS/140429913/1001#criswell-s-destination-division-i Quote
TheKamdyMan Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 I have a feeling the only way he comes to NU is as a walkon. Quote
uneblinstu Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 Sounds like a tremendous worker though. I enjoyed reading that. Seems like he might have a little Petteway in him. We need more of those. NeHoops 1 Quote

TheKamdyMan Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 The situation reminds me a lot of Mahlon Jones from last year. D2 juco all American that tried out for Miles. He ended up at Univ of Sioux Falls. Granted Criswell already has better options than he did I feel he'd have to do the same tryout to get added. He would be a great add to replace the loss of Wagner that's for sure. Quote
busticket Posted April 21, 2014 Report Posted April 21, 2014 Nate Johnson was JUCO DII POY and did pretty well for us. Cleanthony Early did extremely well at Wichita. I don't think he's a plan A guy but i'd be interested in taking him if the bigger fish don't pan out. Quote

I believe Tyron will continue to get better & better as he's shown in the past 2 seasons, and that could make for a good change-of-pace player on the roster. Tyron is clearly motivated to work on his game, and perhaps in the process, prove people wrong as well. I'd have no issue w/ Criswell in RED if he wants to be here (provided a few guys pass up NU for whatever reason). Quote

TheKamdyMan Posted April 23, 2014 Report Posted April 23, 2014 Here are some highlights from high school.... http://www.hudl.com/athlete/411254/highlights/8663388 I can see why the D1 coach chuckled in that article about him wanting to go D1. That highlight video showed me nothing spectacular and that he would be a good NAIA player. Congrats to him for improving his game and getting a few D1 offers. Quote
Norm Peterson Posted April 23, 2014 Report Posted April 23, 2014 I had to stop watching that silly video. There's no jump in his jumper. Practically shoots it flat-footed. The stop action sequences got a bit tiresome as well. There have to be better ways to produce a highlight vid. Starting out with some actual highlights. Quote
busticket Posted April 23, 2014 Report Posted April 23, 2014 That was one of the worst highlight videos I've ever seen. Pretty amazing that the kid in the video rebuilt his game in JUCO to the point where he's achieved the success he has. Hats off to his JUCO coach for making him correct his fundamentals. It's be nice if they posted JUCO film of him so we could compare and contrast his game to his high school footage. hhcmatt 1 Quote
Silverbacked1 Posted April 23, 2014 Report Posted April 23, 2014 If that was from Hudl then it is game film that coaches down load and then you make your mix tape off of it. The thing with most coaches film now is that it might be filmed by students and subpar equiptment. Nothing wrong with a student doing the filming but soemtimes it comes out like this. Quote
