lanigan123 Posted March 4, 2014 Report Posted March 4, 2014 Noah Vonleh is still in a boot and according to Tom Creen he is day to day. How does this change the game in your eyes? Quote
Norm Peterson Posted March 4, 2014 Report Posted March 4, 2014 I'd rather beat a team straight up. Full strength. Mano a mano. Or something like that. Buuut ... if it comes down to the last couple of games and we are still in the hunt (and we are), I'm not going to lose sleep if we sneak into the NCAA tourney by beating an Indiana team that had a starter in a walking boot. That's how far my principles go. Right up to the edge of convenience. If we were 3-13, I'd want to beat them straight up, though. Quote

It would be huge as despite him not playing great the first game vs us he is a mismatch. With that said...we will still need to play much better than we have on the road to pull out a W. Quote
tcp Posted March 4, 2014 Report Posted March 4, 2014 I'd feel bad for the kid and for IU, seeing as they still have something to play for themselves. But before we think this is a real break, remember IU rallied and beat Iowa without him. Can't take anything for granted right now. Quote
uneblinstu Posted March 4, 2014 Report Posted March 4, 2014 Whatevs. Play whoever shows up on the floor. They played pretty well without him on Sunday. Quote

That was Ohio State on Sunday... and, oh by the way, Wednesday is Senior Night for IU & Sheehey is on a tear! Quote
49r Posted March 4, 2014 Report Posted March 4, 2014 Yeah, you can forgive me if I don't feel all that sorry for Indiana. They have more talent on their bench (even with Vonleh out) than we do on our whole team. Quote
leonidas Posted March 4, 2014 Report Posted March 4, 2014 Whatevs. Play whoever shows up on the floor. They played pretty well without him on Sunday. It'd be the loss of one of their starters (the likely B10 Freshman of the Year) and would increase NU's chances to win. At least for me, that doesn't fall into the "whatevs" category at all. Quote

That's they're problem, not ours...which it seems that most everyone is in agreement with and just said it a little better than I did. Quote

jimmykc Posted March 4, 2014 Report Posted March 4, 2014 Noah's foot vs Petteway's back Injuries are part of any sport-just ask Izzo Quote
lanigan123 Posted March 4, 2014 Author Report Posted March 4, 2014 He is going to be a first round draft pick, its a big loss if he doesnt play. It helps with our match ups with Ferrell and Shehee. I think the key in the games the rest of the way is starting fast. Quote
throwback Posted March 4, 2014 Report Posted March 4, 2014 After the way we rebounded at Illinois last week, we can use the help. Quote
Cazzie22 Posted March 4, 2014 Report Posted March 4, 2014 A win at Assembly Hall, one of the very best basketball venues in the country, would be a great accomplishment. Indiana has always symbolized great basketball, from Branch McCraken's "Hurryin' Hoosiers", up through Scott May, Isaiah Thomas and Steve Alford, Indiana means basketball. Quote
