He seemed like a good kid the little bit I talked to him once, but if you aren't disciplined enough to make it to meetings sessions on time like everyone else you leave coach no choice.  Really is too bad, assuming he's gone.

Biggs also got a ticket for driving on a suspended license.  It was eligible for reinstatement but he hadn't reinstated it and got caught running a stop sign.  Sorry, Dev, but if you can't get your poop in a group, you're bringing down the rest of the team and it's time to say sayonara.

Sorry, Dev, we can't let you drag everybody down.

Someone posted on RSS that this decision was made by the AD, not by Miles. I questioned the info given that a missed team meeting allegedly prompted his dismissal, but what you posted corroborates the info. I was told last summer that Biggs was on an AD master list made up of "last chance" athletes who were on a zero-tolerance policy based on past transgressions. Others on the list were guys like Avery Moss and Thomas Brown.

In retrospect, I wish Biggs would have played last year.  He wouldn't have been where he was to get the DUI he got (because the team was on the road as I recall) and he would have given us more returning experience at the PG spot to get us off to a good start this season (and maybe even beat UAB  :o ).  And then he'd be done at the end of this season and we wouldn't have to worry about whether he can keep himself out of trouble over the summer.  Assuming Miles even lets him back on the team this year.

I'm glad it's not my call but a big part of me says the minuses outweigh the plusses where Mr. Biggs is concerned, and it's time to amicably part ways.

Miles should have never brought Biggs in unless he agreed to play last year. We needed a point guard badly last year.

So what does this mean ? Don't you think that if you weren't on the team anymore that you would say something. I mean whats the coach going to do to you.

As was mentioned earlier, it sounds like NU will keep him on scholarship, allow him to try to graduate and he then could transfer as a 5th-yr graduate to any D-1 school without having to sit out. So that's probably why. Plus NU would have to release him from a scholarship, so you don't want to burn your bridges on the way out the door. Besides he has to know it's his fault, he left Coach Miles with no choice, so why cause additional problems, especially if you want to play somewhere else down the road?

Usually you only get one chance and Biggs has had multiple.  Hopefully he gets it together but it probably doesn't need to be at Nebraska.

Honestly we have guys that will step up.  Benny Parker and Tai Webster.

Benny hit a couple of big jumpers last night when it seemed like Minnesota was about to make the full comeback. Tai on the other hand...I just don't know. I know he's a freshman, but it's like he was trying to do his best Biggs impression a few times, the way he was trying to weave through defenders. But all he did was get himself stuck and would either pick up his dribble with nowhere to go, or put up a wildly inaccurate shot. He's still got a long ways to go. At least he's starting to hit a few more of his free throws though.
